What are historical figures that we can be certain were gay?

What historical figures were probably gay but it can't be definitively proven?

What historical figures may have been gay but there is really no evidence one way or the other.

What historical figures are sometimes thought to be gay but probably weren't?

Henri III and Charles VIII of France were certainly homosexuals. Why do you ask this? This isn't “LGBT history”, they weren't “gay” and there's no point in learning such anecdotical theories.

Gay in what way? Homosexuality is a fairly new identity all things considering.

The Roman Emperor Elagabalus would prostitute himself at brothels and asked the palace doctors of they could cut a vagina into him. He was batshit crazy though and made Rome worship a rock.

Alexander the Great was pretty gay.

Gay is not new, the terminology simply is, being gay has always existed there just hasn't always been a term for it. Schizophrenia has always existed and yet it was not called schizophrenia. It's ludicrous to look back then and say people weren't gay because the term didn't exist. You only need look at the behavior.

Jesus Christ some of you anons are retarded.

>Hurr the notion of a round world didn't exist back then therefore the world could not have been round

Regardless of whether you are Independent, Democrat, or Republican, do us all a favor and put your voter id card through a paper shredder.

But all them leather clad blond boys?

Homosexual figures before homosexuality was really a thing don't really matter much. Everyone used to do homosexual acts even though you couldn't identify as homosexual(something that still happens for example in Saudi Arabia).

Personally I think Oscar Wilde, Harvey Milk, Bayard Rustin and Alan Turing are the ones every gay should read about.

Wasn't Shakespeare a womanizer?
>>
Homosexuality is a socisl construct. Homosexual behavior is not. All evidence suggests that homosexual behavior was more common before it became an identity to be abhorred by all who want to appear normal.

In other words, the Bible and Quran tell us not to lie with men. They say nothing about boys.

Romans did worship rocks though. Their religion was at heart an animist one, akin to Shintoism or Shamanism. It involved the worshipping of spirits that inhabited spaces or objects like crossroads or rocks. These spirits were called numina.

He wasn't that wrong to do so really. Probably old historians twisting a pious act again (as they do with King Cnut, Caligula and so on).

sappho was a lesbian and anyone who says otherwise is wrong

Sappho was and remains a token. A banknote poet.

James Dean, he was either bi leaning mostly gay, or gay. Even the director of his most famous movie Rebel Without a Cause said he knew Dean was gay.

Says who?

>Homosexuality is a social construct.

Oh boy, I found the SJW amongst us.

Lemme guess race is a social construct to right?

Barack Obama- His wife is a man
Hilldog Cliton- She fucks Janet Reno

Not a SJW. I don't think people are 'born this way.'

Cecil John Rhodes was thought to be a homosexual. Never married, had two men in his life (at different times) who he loved dearly and had in his will as the major inheritor. Most powerful man in Africa at one point.

Lincoln and Da Vinci were almost certainly gay.

Shakespeare was likely gay but we know very little about him at all.

James Buchannon, 15th president of the US, was possibly gay. Immediately after he left office the civil war started. Hmmm . . .

Oda Nobunaga had a young male partner who he has sex with as well as his wife. It's suggested he actually loved Ranmaru Mori (his male page) because he intended to leave his property to him after his death.
So I guess that makes him confirmed bisexual. One plot against him involved a male retainer seducing him to gain his trust.
There's also suggestions that he cared more for men than women overall, which makes it quite possible he was in fact totally gay.

THANK YOU

As far as Im aware, Rome didn't have a "homosexuality." Men were expected to sleep with women and boys or other effeminate men. It was about masculinity and not a sexual orientation
>>
Alexander Hamilton is practically confirmed bi, not sure whether or not it's officially proven. Most of the ancient Greek city states had some form of homosexual acts either expected or encouraged as part of growing up to full manhood.

Michelangelo was gay as fuck, why else would he paint and sculpt so many naked men?
