Yesterday I read this nice overview of transgender issues. It was written by a doctor and touches on the history of gender as a philosophical concept, biological influences on gender identity, and the evolution of transgender medicine.

I'm glad they left the decision to later. I'm also a true hermaphrodite, but they operated on me without telling my parents. I'm also glad the author refers to gender ambiguity as a variance. It is much better than dysphoria.
