It's pretty easy to end up going a week or two without masturbating because you just don't have the sex drive any more and then find out that it doesn't get hard anymore and that makes masturbating even more difficult and you end up with a non-functional shrunken penis; it happened to me. (Is there any way to reverse some of this without going off of HRT?)

Masturbation causes blood to flow into the erectile tissues; if you don't have erections with some regularity, you start losing volume. It's not exactly the same as why you lose muscles if you don't exercise them, but it's not a terrible analogy either.
