For example, I loathe having a square-cornered jaw but I'm terrified of getting surgery. Yet women like Olivia Wilde seem to get along just fine with jaws even squarer than mine, so it can't be that bad.

Didn't actually say anything to comfort my mom because she was super supportive and even seems kind of relieved/glad that she finally knows and can help me with the problem that's turned me into a depressed fuck since I started puberty.

This is my face with totally no changes to it. I havent done my eyebrows in a few months because last time I did them it turned out horribly. What would be the best way to pass with a face like mine, including makeup tips, hair styling, all that? I've been on a proper dose of spiro for about 3 months now, and my doctor says I'll likely be on estrogen in 2 months.
your face looks ok but your hair is fucked--looks really gnarly and damaged.
one of the best ways to fix this is to get on a more nutritious diet, and use higher-quality products (shampoos, conditioners, etc) to stop damaging it. Also, no more shitty purple box dye.

First I want to make clear that this isn't a "LOL TRANS IS A MENTAL ILLNESS" thread. I don't care how trans people live their lives and I just want people to be happy. This is really just an interesting intellectual exercise.
The root cause of most mental disorders today is seen as a combination of genetic and environmental factors - i.e. you may have a family predisposition to experiencing bipolar disorder or schizophrenia, but that doesn't mean you're guaranteed to developed those disorders. Traumatic life events like physical and sexual abuse, homelessness, drug use, etc. can activate the latent potential for the disease or worsen it. The same is true vice versa - becoming homeless doesn't mean you're guaranteed to develop schizophrenia.
Is it possible that the same is true of gender dysphoria? I've gotten to know quite a lot of trans people, and they all seem to have the same sort of history that would make them susceptible to mental illness – severe bullying at school, drug addiction, homelessness, abusive parents, NEET shut-in lifestyle, social isolation, and at a far greater than the general populace. I know what your response is likely to be - that trans people face such difficulty and abuse just living their day to day lives that of course they're going to have had traumatic events and lifestyles in their past. Or that their latent gender dysphoria caused their mental and social problems before they realised they were trans.
Of course this can't be ruled out entirely, but it doesn't seem to fit what I hear from actual trans people. Usually the traumatic events happened long before they first experienced gender dysphoria, sometimes even before puberty. And feeling uncomfortable when you look in the mirror or are misgendered doesn't get you molested.

So basically my hypothesis is that a portion of the population experiences or has the potential to experience gender dysphoria, it's just that when they're well adjusted and have led a trauma and mental illness free life it doesn’t develop into full blown gender dysphoria.
Thoughts?
This hypothesis doesn't account for the kids that experienced gender dysphoria in early childhood before puberty, especially the ones with stable, socially liberal and supportive parents.

At the highschool I currently attend there was a board meeting deciding whether or not boys should be able to grow their hair out, or wear earrings. They lost in a 4-3 vote, so gender expression is lost here. A bunch of my friends and I all cross-dressed today to make a statement. And hopefully the school will change the dress code, as they are in violation of California law. Has this happened before to any of you guys? It's also going on the news.

That's definitely a straight MTF in OP. No lesbian has press on nails like that, you can't sex up sapphic style without scratching up vaginal walls, pinching clits, and losing plastic and glue up in somebody. Plus, the finger ratio shows pre-natal testosterone baths, and the wrist is masculine as fuck with the bone knob there. That arm's been shaved, too, which I admit is ambiguous but is far more common with someone trying to pass than a grown ass woman worried about her wispy arm hairs.
