Thinking of picking one of these up, are they still shit? A few years ago I heard they were having issues but haven't heard anything since then

I have one of these bad boys and I love it. Only put about 500 rds through it so far, but no issues. Really great gun but I also got a great deal on mine.

They are functional rifles, but way overpriced. If you're spending ~$1000 on a rifle, it shouldn't have canted sights or a shitty finish that bubbles up when the rifle gets warm

The finish on mine started to come off.
Be careful with cleaning solvents, some will strip away the paint on the parts. My iron sight front post is off center as well.
Shoots 2 to 3 MOA with surplus.

Best ak on the American market that won't bankrupt you. Although I think I'll wait a bit since I heard talk about some russian company being able to pass the sanctions by technically not making a kalash. It was called mirot or something.

they should have used the high heat bbq paint instead

Got the SLR107 back when they were around $800. There are some ergo issues, but that has more to do with Warsaw rifles in general.

If I knew then what I knew now, I probably would have just gotten an AR for the same price, but I really don't have much use for 7.62x39 over 5.56x45.

Are you actually getting a CR? What are you paying and is it in 7.62? As for shit Arsenals were never "shit". I've had my CR since 2012 and have had no problems with reliability or finish. Arsenals finish is poor but robs bubble rifle was an improper finish job done by some idot who probably doesn't have a job anymore. Where arsenals excel is build and parts quality. That and if you want an AK100 folder, they are the only economical choice today.

It's a 106CR.

>>30657484
I was also interested in the 106CR models. Last time I looked into it, I was told that they were basically a perfect storm for AKs with issues and that I was better off finding a different rifle.

They're still sexy as shit, and I think worth a try if you're experienced with AKs. There's always the chance it just works too.

They've always been pretty chintzy. The finish sucks and the plastic feels cheap and hollow, worse than tapco. Get a saiga why you still can or vepr if that's your thing. There aren't any other options for a top of the line AK, which I've never considered the arsenals to be. They're a step below and because of the price just not a consideration, and I'm not even a poorfag.

Neither Vepr nor Saiga imported let alone made the kind of rifle he's interested in. You could try paying attention to the OP next time.
>>
>>30659197
So buy it, put 4 parts on it, save $300 and have a better rifle.

op here yes I'm looking at the 106cr, I had a 107fr at one point and it was pretty nice. Honestly don't care about the finish, just want a rifle that will be reliable what ever feed it, already own an AR. I wanted a galil but couldn't really find one but the 106cr seemed like a good runner up but I just heard they had reliability issues and want to see of the latest batch has all those issues sorted out.

Yeah, good luck finding rare special snowflake FSPs for cheap.
>>
>>30657484
Arsenal was never shit.

That being said, if I could go back in time I'd probably get a PTR-91 instead.
>>
>>30658758
it would still come off.
>>
>>30659514
I think he means a conversion (which mainly entails moving the trigger forward). It's more complicated than just replacing parts but it's not a hard task for a competent gunsmith.
>>
>>30657484
get an atlantic kit build or a DDI for a few hundred less and it wont have a watercolor paint job finish
>>
>>30657484
I just ordered a SAM7 side folder from a shop in Maine. I hope they're not shit, fucking thing was $1430 total. It was hard to find with most shops only carrying ras47s.
