Shortening the already shortened Deagle to Deag doesn't make you cool.

Owning a Deagle doesn't make you cool.

Posting in /k/ about Deagles doesn't make you cool.

Shit in you hand and yawn.

I don't know I own a deagle and pretty much everyone thinks its fucking awesome, sometimes its nice to own something interesting and meme tier rather than boring and practical.
>>
>>30626291
>>30626412
Yeah, if you show it to normies and even some /k/ommando-tier people, they'll still think it's awesome. It's just a cool gun, whether you accept it or not.

I want a MkI .357. I love my MkXIX, but I still would like the slimmer dedicated .357 Magnum version.
>>
Should I buy a Deagle in anything other than .50 African Eliminator? How expensive are the conversions to .357 Magnum for when I don't want to pay five bucks per magazine?

For sure. There's no faster way to get a conversation started at a gun range than firing off hot-loaded handloads with H-110 powder and watch the fireball and sound make everyone gopher hole out of their lane to see what the hell just happened.
>>
>>30627705
Thing is if you're converting from .357 to .44 mag/.50 or vice versa you have to buy the bolt in addition to the barrel and mags. Mags are about 40-50 depending on where you get them, and replacement barrels about 500ish give or take depending if they're used or not and the finish.

Bolts are also about 220 bucks.

So you're looking at:

-Bolt 220
-Barrel 500-600 depending on options
-Mags 40 bucks per give or take.

I love mine. With the .357, there's hardly any recoil, but it's picky about ammo. It won't cycle steel-case and you're gonna need 158-grain FMJ to cycle it reliably. Otherwise it's very smooth and accurate.

I want one but I can't justify the price. (Ausfag btw)

I mean, it wouldn't be the most expensive gun I got, but I don't feel it's worth it. Even compared to similar ones for sale in the US with exchange rate, this is still like $700 - $800 more expensive.
>>
>>30627818
Agree on the price. I bought it mainly because i had a great bonus for one year and I've always been fascinated with the sheer novelty/absurdity of the gun. Feeding it the ammo it likes is very expensive if you don't reload, particularly if you go with the .50ae, you're looking at 1-2 bucks a round if you're buying the hot off-the-shelf stuff.
>>
>>30627818
I though handguns were illegal in Australia. Do you get magazine caps and stuff like that?
>>
>>30627844
Handguns just require a bit more paperwork. 10 round mag caps, and unless you have a dealer/armourer licence, you can't have handguns over 45cal (45acp, 45 long colt, 454 Casull, 460 Rowland etc are permitted though).

Don't ask me why that is, the police obviously think bigger caliber = higher powered or some shit. Yet fuck-off huge caliber rifles are fine like 338 Lapua, 416 Rigby, 50 BMG (in some states), 500 Nitro, 700 Nitro, etc.

.44 Magnum and .50AE use the same bolt, so swapping between takes just the barrel and mag. I've seen plain black .44 and .50 barrels on eBay for $400. Changing barrels takes just a few seconds.

Swapping from the big bore calibers is more involved, since you need to change the bolt as well, which involves field stripping the slide. It takes about two minutes once you have it down. Maybe less.

I bought the gun in .44 first, since I already had a couple of .44 Magnum revolvers. I picked up a .50 barrel later, then finally bought a .357 bolt and barrel.

Shooting wise, the gas system, one pound slide and sheer weight of the gun soaks up a lot of recoil.

.50AE, which is comparable to low end .454 Casull, feels about like .44 Magnum from a four inch revolver.

.44 Magnum (the hot stuff, the gun dislikes some of the milder commercial loads) is like .45acp+p from a full sized 1911.

.357 Magnum is basically like 9mm out of a full sized handgun. Except with more muzzle flash and report.

Yeah, I got a .357 barrel and bolt for my MkXIX. I found out 125 grain ammo was a non starter. 180 grain loads work great, though.
>>
>>30627866
Even here in the States, gun laws rarely make sense. A 16" barreled rifle is fine. One with a 15 1/2" or less barrel is a federal felony.
>>
>>30627866
Oh I see Australia is like the inverse of Chile, here handguns require the less paperwork than rifles, and even have no restrictions on size or capacity.
>>
>>30627969
I'm really digging the black finish. The Chrome-Nickel plating on mine is wearing around the beavertail. I'm wondering how long and costly a refinishing would be.

Thanks. Kinda glad I went with black.
If you're in the U.S. I'd look into Ford's finishing. They do Deagles for MRI.

do people even use the .50 AE variants? I thought .44 and .357 were waaay more common

We can't buy a 10/22, but we can buy a Charger, put it in a 10/22 stock, and put a 16" barrel on it, and because it measures in at less than 750mm overall length it's a still a "concealable firearm" AKA a pistol.
