I've been trying to find a rail or scope to use on my NPAP that actually fits the mount on the rifle without having to modify one and risk fucking it up.
Did your npap come with a rail? If not just buy a MI handguard and be done. Drilling and riveting a rail is so much more work than it's worth.

It didn't come with any rails, only the iron sights and the rail mount on the left side.

What you're calling the rail mount is a rail, just a different style.
They make scopes, red dots, ect designed specifically for AK pattern rifles with the side rail. Just get one of those.

All you do is file a little 6mm x 4mm chunk off at most. You don't really need to do much modifying.

Yugo's use a svd style rail, standard ak mounts won't work. Hit up kalinkaoptics and get a svd optic mount

IMO, there's literally nothing that fits it better and looks better on it than a romanian pso scope(or equivilant posp, other than the color isn't as good looking on it IMO). It won't block your irons either.
The comb on the pap stock just gets your eye up right where it should be, unlike most ak stocks. I just find pap stocks less comfy for irons use.

RS Regulate 306/307 lower mount is specifically made for the Yugo M21 rail.
Get the 306 or 307, find an optic you like, then get the appropriate RS upper mount that matches.
