So did these do any actual damage?
>stories of a cut down 1/12 twist barrel tearing VC apart because of yawing and fragmenting on impact
Wouldn't this be better than a modern SBR with a 1/7 twist rate because they can't reach the velocities needed to fragment?
Bump

No goddamnit. No. No. NO! No they didn't tear VC apart. Use your fucking brain.
>>30619179
Would probably be shit for barrier penetration. Even worse than light 5.56 loads already are.

Also, 77gr OTM loads in a modern SBR fragments just fine.

The main times I've heard of particularly nasty wounds comes from really early Colt 601s which had ludicrously slow twist rates. Yeah, your round is more likely to fragment violently when it keyholes. It also means that your maximum range is now lolmusket.
Troy is releasing their replica with a 12.5 inch barrel and a 1/12 twist rate.
What difference would this make?
In MAC's, video, he has no problem whatsoever with accuracy

Try shooting an AR-15 with 1:14 or 1:16. It's known that Colt meant to have the 601 be 1:14, and I've seen it repeated (including in book form) that they sometimes went out with 1:16 or even 1:18.

Would this combo make it accurate enough for paper and deadly enough for combat?
The 12.5" and 1/12 twist?

Get over it. They made a mistake and made amends
>wanting to tear VC apart
But Dan you are the VC

77gr SMK OTM tumbles it does not fragment retard
