You realize 45ACP was built from the ground up to be identical to 45LC ballistics in a smaller autoloader package, right.
Was goofing around the other day and put some .45 Colt in .44 Desert Eagle Magazines. The fit okay. .45 Colt has the same rim size as .44 Magnum, so presumably you could have a .44 Magnum Desert Eagle Barrel reamed out and chambered in .45 Colt. For the gun to function, it would have to be loaded to Magnum pressures, so you'd basically be shooting a short .454 Casull load for the gun to work.
Otherwise you're probably stuck with lever guns, OP.

Because the Automag IV and LAR Grizzly haven't been in production for years and the Desert Eagle in .44 Magnum pretty much fills that role.
I think the Wildey Magnum is back in production and .45 WinMag is one of the available chamberings. That's assuming the company doesn't go tits up for a third time.
