You know the military doesn't just sit on a base with their thumbs up their asses until a war is declared. They train constantly. And they have to move hardware.
Probably a fighter squadron stopped to refuel. We had navy jets stop by Ellsworth SD often enough
Ever think they might be canadian? I used to watch canadian f18's fly over all the time on their way to red flag.

Nigga it's an airforce base, they have military planes flying around. Sometimes you might see a plane that isn't normally there, but it doesn't mean that they're gearing up for an assault on the homeland. Are you sure there isn't an airshow going on? I remember one time I saw a B2 at Minot. Pictures don't compare to actually seeing that thing banking across the sky.
I don't see any unusual NOTAMs in the area, nothing on ADSB or MLAT so as per usual with fast movers they're sticking to a military training route while squawking mode 3 setting on their transponder. My guess is a technical problem during a continental transit.
