It was 3 days without power, but nothing exploded, radios still worked, anything with batteries in it worked fine, etc. The only way people knew it was a solar flare and not just kelp in some hydro turbines is that it was on the news. That people still got. Because some places have redundant power systems by grace of buying and selling literal energy to eachother and didn't get knocked out, or came online faster than others.
