What is the general /k/onsensus on this optic?
>>
>>30536872

I like mine. A big upgrade from the TRS-25.
>>
>>30536872
Chinkshit. Get an aimpoint pro unless you just want to shoot it at a range
>>
>>30536872
About 2/3's of what you get from an Aimpoint for 1/3 the price.

I have one on a few different rifles. My 'go to' rifle wears an Aimpoint, though. 5 year battery life FTW.

For a plinker, it's quite nice. Mine has been going strong for a little over a year and has held zero through plenty of abuse.
>>
It's not an Aimpoint, but it's unbeatable among budget red dots.
>>
Is it grey or black? I feel like I'd be too embarrassed to put it on a $1,600 rifle. That said there's no way in hell I'm shelling out for an aimpoint.
>>
>>30536872
Seems nice, i like my vortex sparc2 more though. Its only 30 more bucks and better glass imo.
>>
>>30537794
They're matte black. I can't compare it to an aimpoint, as I've never used one, but unless you're willing to spend over $300, you're probably not going to find anything better.
>>
>>30537854
I've actually been looking at vortex offerings, potentially to mount in tandem with a scope. Particularly the Venom. Still uncertain, of course. Good to know it's actually black, that was an embarrassingly large concern of mine.
>>
>>30536872
/g/ convinced me to buy it and I am glad I did. Mine is running right now and I am not going to bother turning it off because the battery lasts for years

On my rifle, I wanted kind of an all purpose setup, so I went with a Vortex Magnifier on a flip-to-side mount that has served me pretty well. On my second rifle, I just got a Vortex strike eagle. The 1-6 capability is better than the 3x the magnifier gives and feels better than having the double optic.

I also happen to own the Vortex venom. I can tell you it's a very crisp dot and it's very nice and bright, but unless you're dead set on scope + Dot, I'd look into the 1-4 or 1-6 offerings out there.

The PA Advanced MRDS is supposedly great. And it's nice to see 5yr battery lifes becoming the standard.

That being said, I would possibly have one on an AR. I'm considering one on my SLR-104FR with a RS Regulate mount, but there's no way in hell I'd trust one on my Ultimak. I've fried 2 different cheap-o optics on Ultimak equipped AK's. In my opinion the only RDS for that task is the T1/T2 series. I wouldn't even trust my MRO to those temperatures.
>>
>>30537940
What are your opinions on the 3×9 from vortex/p223 from nikon.
>>
>>30536872

I'm wondering the same thing. I looked at one along with an Aimpoint and they were indistinguishable looking through them. The PA is also really fucking tiny. I'm getting it for new AR-15 I've been putting together.
>>
>>30537940
I actually already have a 1-4, and like it a lot, and do still want a red dot in addition. Glad to hear you feel positively about the venom.

I have 3 pieces of vortex glass. The magnifier, the Venom and a Strike Eagle. Unfortunately, I haven't played with their 3-9x, but if it's of similar quality to the rest of their products, which I assume it would be, I'd say you'd be hard pressed to find better glass on a budget.

The camera picks up a little glare above the dot, but there's no glare when you're just looking through it.

Ultimak rails are fucking gay anyway.

Robski of the AK Operators Union has had much success with Primary Arms optics on his AK's, and he beats them up to make sure.

It's nice for the price
It's not an aimpoint
It's durable enough for 95% of the people on this website

I still prefer the Ultimak. If for nothing else the fact that I can still fold the stock all the way. Plus it has a fucking awesome track record.

I'd like to try the Sabrewerks KOP, but it's a pain in the dick to install correctly.

I've considered an Attero Arms mount and another MRO for the 74 to be honest, but I'm uncertain about Attero. However, I love the MRO. One of my AR's has one. Great FOV, great price, etc

I'm thinking of picking up one of these for my shotgun, but the 6MOA variant. And a 4-16x40 PST for my RPR.
>>
Well guys I ordered it yesterday after a lot of research, seems like I'll be the test dummy... Cause I'm throwing it on an Ultimak and I'm going to try and fry it with a mag dump... How many do u guys think I should dump? I'll YouTubefag this shit too if u guys want...
>>
>>30538862
well they have a lifetime warranty so i wouldnt worry too much about it.
after using the ultimak and rs, im an rs fan for sure.
>>
>>30538890
I'm just wondering how much it can take from my ak before sizzle zazzle zip
>>
>>30538951
I've got one on an Ultimak on my AMD-65 and I've done a lot of mag dumps, etc without issue. Round count around 4000 or so, no problems.
>>
>>30538972
Sweet brother good to hear. My Slr gets pretty hot and I wonder sometimes if it'll effect performance years down the roads
>>
>>30537991
I like my diamond back 3-9x40its some very clear glass and you always have that warranty. I use it for prairie dogs. Seems great to me.
>>
>>30536872
Got one, if I tighten down the battery cap all the way, not torquing the shit out of it..just finger tight the dot wouldnt work at all..called PA and they were dumbfounded...let me return it for a refund though so I guess theres that.
