It would be extremely painful

Do you have two hands and socket wrench set?

You're good
>>
>>30536675
is that really it? have you done it before?
>>

I just pressed mine onto my barrel because it's just aesthetic sheet metal. Its not like youre going to be on guadalcanal blasting nips all day and accidently grab your barrel after 20 or so shots.

Its EXTREMELY HARD don't even try OP. I installed mine and it took me 8hours, and a bunch of different tools i didn't even need. It was extreme difficult to slide the damn heatshield on the barrel, and tighten 4! You heard me 4 fucking philips screws (who the fuck has philip scredrivers? I'm not a fucking gunsmith!) Just take it to a gunsmith OP, you don't want to risk fucking up your firearm

How hard is it to use internet search tools to learn basic information?

Nah, it's stays on very tight and aesthetically pleasing
>>
I thought shoulder things that go up were illegal!
>>
>>30536809
Well thanks for answering my questions.i thought it would be harder for some reason.
>>
Barrel shrouds should be illegal you murderers

>You mean semi-auto?
>"Nope! Automatic! Boom, boom, boom!"

how the fuck do you make a pump shotgun automatic?
>>
>>30536908
You don't. I meet people who lie about guns all the time.
>>
>>30536908
he probably bought for $600 at a gunshop on an impulse and threw it under his bed and never shot it
>>
>>30536908
He sounds like a bubba tier owner.

The same kind of owner that buys a cheap ass AR15, mods it out worse than his 1999 chevy s10, and calls it an "Assault rifle" and brags to people it's "Fully auto"

Not an expert, but the pump is used to chamber a round, and it uses blowback action to load subsequent rounds. Least that's how I assume pump autos work.
>>
>>30536939
Says it cost "quite a pretty penny" but didn't really react when I mentioned the $200 NFA tax
>>30536942
Says his family has a fuckload of guns, but he's poor as fuck so I don't know how he'd afford full retard anthing
>>30536950
the question was mostly rhetorical, a mossberg 500 is not mechanically capable of automatic fire from its configuration. I'm sure there are automatic shotguns which have a pump disconnect for manual use, but a Mossberg 500 just doesn't have those features without extensive modification.
>>
>>30536971
He's just a trailer park tier gun owner.

Plenty of white trash owners say shit like that.
>>
can you put a bayonet mount on one?
>>
>>30536908
I got that sickening full auto Maverick 88 at my LGS last week, it's a fucking manstopper capable of taking Bad Guys at ranges in excess of 50 yards quick pump auto feeding shells as quick as human reflexes this is one lethal gun, probably shouldn't even be legal for civvies in my opinion.

It really, REALLY doesn't.

>>30537076
Hey, I'm European and I know that's not how that works.

Furthermore I think he's confused about pump/semi combo guns like the SPAS-12 and Benelli M3, neither of which works like he describes.

okay, now tell me if it can slam fire?

How hard is it to find a heat shield for a 590a1?
>>
>>30537042
Why is the sling mount still on the front of the mag tube if it's got a bayo?
There's a secondary hole for it on the rear of the bayonet lug.

Pretty easy.
Call Mossberg and order part #16335P.
>Parkerized heatshield for the 590A1.
>>
Since this is a heatshield thread, anyone have rust problems underneath theirs? I want to throw one on my mossberg but some fudd mentioned that his gun rusted up since he couldnt oil underneath it easily. Is that just him being lazy?
>>
>>30537124
Nope cause that would be fun.
>>
Maybe he meant it had no disconnector. And you could rack fire it. Like the old Ithicas
>>
>>30536667
You're a big guy
>>
>>30537124
You could try removing the trigger disconnect.

But I'd be careful about that stuff, breh.
>>
>>30537229
i did but i live in a coastal location where everything rusts
>>
>>30537229
Spray some ballistol or other CLP over the barrel before mounting it.

Then whenever it's cleaning time, take the shield off and do a proper job cleaning.
>>
>>30537229
He was being a lazy fuck, you take off the heat shield for proper cleaning, and oiling
>>
>>30536662
How hard is it to wear gloves you little bitch!
>>
>>30537548
Literally the one reason people get heatshields fo shotguns is for aesthetics.

They don't really do an amazing job of actually shielding your hands for heat.
>>
>>30537612
Idk what kinda shitty ass heatshields you have, but my heatshield is great at dissipating heat. Without it grabbingthe barrel would burn you pretty bad after some rapid fire. But with the heatshield, picking it up from the barrel isn't a problem, doesn't even get hot.
>>
>>30536844

OP, in the future, just search something like "mossberg 500 heat sheild installation. Youtube has everything and has come in handy every time I want to completely strip and clean a new gun.
>>
>>30537435
>>30537517
>>30537543

Thanks for the info. How often is that necessary? I usually give my guns a light cleaning whenever i shoot and a good cleaning maybe every three or four times i shoot if ive put a lot of rounds through. I want to put the heatshied on a comp gun with a blued barrel, and maybe on my defense gun which has a parkerized. Is there much difference? Or do i need to neglect it for a year or two before i start rusting up?
>>
>>30537651
Your cleaning regimen sounds about reasonable.
>>
>>30537651
This
>>30537755
Your routine sounds almost identicle to mine. Everytime i shoot borebrush, oiling, and gtg. Every 3rd or 4th range day copper bore bursh, brake clean, complete take down, re oil everything, put back together. Gtg
>>
>>30537803
Identical* my bad
