As far as the optic goes, it's a Bushnell AR/223 with a Burris PEPR mount. I can't lie and say that I'm not impressed with it. All of the groups that I shot at 100 yards were all touching groups. This room rock river upper is damn accurate that's for sure. Chambered in 5.56 of course.

ACS-L, MOE stocks, MOE handguards
Carbine length barrels
Around 60 A2 grips
A couple pounds of A2 hiders
Mil spec charging handles
A bunch of random other shit like rails and what not

Most of this is just left over parts/spares/out of date stuff. I really dont want to have to pack up 60 a2 grips individually and drive to the post office twice a day to ship them.

Nope, feels dandy.
> your cheek is raised much too high in order to use the scope properly?
Nope again, you only have to raise your head a slight amount considering how tightly the rear aperture hugs the carry handle.

It's not as solid as using the irons, no, but it's still perfectly functional.

So what I'm getting from this is. (Also to add going to buy more then one gun but the way everyone talked on other thread I'll give purchase order first)

Gun type purchase
>1. AR
>2. AK (Preferably with scare cash)
>3. BR (Save a lot overtime aiming for a Scar or something akin to it)

Then for the AR what I thinking you all are getting at so far is.

>16" Barrel
>Midlength gas system
>Get a scope soon after and any other attachment for it (Don't know how much I should save for them.)

Anything other then that I'm missing remember i'm fairly new to buying and making guns I'm just extremely used to handling, and shooting them but I have yet to look much into them so I don't know if this is all I need to know their may be more.

Also here is where I will most likely get my stuff and for anyone else in Virginia try this place.
http://www.colonialshooting.com/

http://www.colonialshooting.com/rva/

I'll likely buy an AR from here and here is their list anything else I should know.

"What is it like to fire an AR-15? It’s horrifying, menacing and very very loud.

It felt to me like a bazooka — and sounded like a cannon.

But mostly, I was just terrified.

Squeeze lightly on the trigger and the resulting explosion of firepower is humbling and deafening (even with ear protection).

The recoil bruised my shoulder, which can happen if you don't know what you're doing. The brass shell casings disoriented me as they flew past my face. The smell of sulfur and destruction made me sick. The explosions — loud like a bomb — gave me a temporary form of PTSD. For at least an hour after firing the gun just a few times, I was anxious and irritable."

Wanted to buy a Schmeisser AR15 Dynamic but I now realised it is direct impingement whereas I always wanted a piston AR.

Should I reconsider my choice of DI/Piston? Am I a mall ninja now? I always thought a piston to be a more rational choice concerning design and where the dirt goes.
>>
sup
>>
>>30531117
DI is generally regarded as better. A little more dirty but less weight, generally better recoil, less moving parts.

They don't "shit where they eat" like people say they do

For anything you will ever need it to do either system will be perfectly reliable but there's a reason more people use gas instead of piston
>>
>>30531117
>>30531152
Also with piston, you're stuck to the brand that makes the piston, they are the only one that can sale you spare parts.

It's like buying an H&K versus a glock in France. You may prefer the HK, but in the end, when you'll need parts, good luck with the wait, the disponibility or the price.

I'm planning on building an ar. What's the best stripped lower to buy for cost? Also parts kits. Thanks.
>>
>>30532092
Europoor.

The most I really could get is a shotgun license, and all that lets me own is a double barrel shotgun or a 2+1 pump/lever action. Even then in my country theres barely any shooting ranges and they are rarely open.

anderson lowers are the cheapest. other forged lowers in the $100 range include mega arms, aero, MI, Spike's, PSA. the aforementioned companies make good parts kits.

they're fine, for all intents and purposes any forged milspec lower is the same as the next one. I use aero lowers because they're affordable and the rollmark is sharp, but you wont see any difference in performance between one forged lower vs any other.

So the barrel nut is stuck in place on my rail. Just tight tolerances is all, it's not burred or anything.

Last night I called ALG and left a voicemail explaining my dilemma with my name and number attached and CS just called me back.
He explained to let some penetrating oil soak into it then kinda slam the rail down onto it barrel end first and push it out.

He also mentioned that he googled my number and gave me some time to wake up before calling, which I felt was pretty fucking cool.

Expost facto would not apply to outlawing certain guns. While most gun banning laws include a grandfather clause, they don't legally have to. Expost facto only applies to acts you performed in the past that become illegal now.

Say they made purchasing and owning ar style rifles illegal today with say a 30 day grace period to get rid of your ar style guns. You couldn't get in trouble for buying your new ar a week ago even though what you did is technically illegal now. You could still be charged at the end of the grace period if you kept your illegal gun though.

I dunno if it's overpriced, it locks up tight, has a consistent cheekweld, and is widely considered the most solid stock on the market for an AR. The downside is that it weighs a literal pound and a half, which also makes it the heaviest AR stock on the market, I believe.

There's nothing wrong with piston rifles, but shoehorning it into an AR doesn't solve anything, and only creates new problems and failure points.

Also, it gives you piston pop if you're suppressing.

Few questions.

Commercial or mil-spec buffer tube?

Lightweight or medium barrel?

Is the Geissele SSA trigger worth it over the standard mil-spec trigger, even for a new shooter?
>>
>>30534924
it was back in 2015 if i remember, LWRC was doing a promo with aimpoint. basically, buy any LWRC rifle, do the mail in form, and 2 months later a free aimpoint T-1 micro showed up at my door lol. But overall though LWRC is really just a brand. The full ambi lower is cool and all but still.

1. Mil-spec, only because more compatible options.

2. If precision shooting is not part of the package, I always opt lightweight, makes a huge difference in handling and overall weight.

3. I tend to say no. If you are going for precision it is a hell of a good trigger and can have a decent impact, for your average AR owner it's hard to justify the price for the relatively little bit gained.
>Inb4 Geissele is god
Yes, their triggers are fucking excellent, no they will not make a 5 moa standing shooter tighten up to 3 moa or better. Focus on the fundamentals and if you get to a point you are owning every aspect of your shooting and you think the trigger is somehow fucking you up, swap it out.

Standard triggers are also extremely safe compared to some of the lighter, competition focused triggers out there, so there's that.
>>
>>30534976
to be honest though you didn't really miss out. The ar is just an ar in the end, and I didn't plan on running the T-1 for a while anyways cause I wanted to just run it with the LWRC irons for a while.

Milspec

Depends on what you want; SPR/Recce? Medium. General purpose carbine? Lightweight.

The Geissele trigger is definitely worth having at LEAST one of.
>>
>>30535070

Most people are satisfied with theirs.

However, I had one completely fail on me. The whole hand guard walked off the barrel nut. When I re-installed it and torqued it down, the tightening bracket broke off.

I've always heard generally favorable reviews from folks using MWI rails. Main complaints being they are a little heavier than expected (but I guess reading the weight and general spec before purchase might help some folks). I wouldn't hesitate to try one out if I thought it looked good.

Sucks there's nothing from KAC between the M4 and M5 RIS/RAS. Best drop-in rail system in existence there as far as I'm concerned.
>>
>>30535070
>>30535101

Not the drop in rail, mind you, I'm just commenting on MI in general.

If you just want a drop in rail system though, hit armlist or arfcom and get a KAC quadrail.

Barring that, MI will prbably be fine, the DD EZ rail is good, and Troy also make a drop in.

Everyone will have their own opinions here. Unfortunately the AR virus hit me hard and I've been through a shitload of different guns in a relatively short time. There's one that has never left though and that's that ugly green piece of shit I post.

LW barrel, "standard" trigger from BCM which honestly feels like a mil-spec with some polish put into it to smooth out any grit. It's my fun gun, class gun and occasional local weekend competition gun.

The precision lower has the best bubba-jobbed single stage I've ever felt from the previous owner. I would probably have a G trigger in that lower if it weren't for that, because trying to be accurate at 500m+ is tough enough without a "combat" trigger.

I would recommend trying whatever comes with the lower or LPK you buy. Decide from there.

I generally agree, but since that gun is pretty much bench only it just feels too damn good to get rid off. It's got the most buttery smooth, consistent and predictable pull and a break that you just slide into. Still heavy/long enough that it's not what I would consider hazardous for anyone with shooting experience.

I'm assuming you have to re-zero that gun between night and day shooting sessions or do you have some wizardry that allows you to shoot during the day with the scope up there?

That's probably not far off, I don't know if I would get that much though given wear internally and externally. ARs are cheap and abundant and VA's gun market is generally saturated. The lower would fetch more money than the upper/bolt/carrier group.

I'm trying to get $300 for the whole kit n kaboodle.

It's a gunfighter cut ACH. Comes with Team Wendy EPIC pads and chin strap.

The NVG mount is a lightweight CADEX--That alone is worth over $300:

But the dealbreaker on it for was that my ARC rails wouldn't go on it, so I'm going to stick with my old setup.
