Help out a new2funs. I want a 357 revolver for home defense/carry with a jacket. I'm very poor fag and can only spend 450ish. I wanted pic related, taurus model 65, but they seem to be impossible to find here. Smith and Wesson is too expensive for me. What other brands should I look at? It this a wild goose chase and ill never find a decent gun for 450?

Ruger GP100 if a smith a too expensive.
Spanish revolvers are nice if you cand find them. Usually S&W copies at a fraction of the price.
Comanche was the name if i recall.

Look for a used Ruger sp101. If you're not in a big hurry, you might get lucky with a K-frame Smith for a good price.

Look for a used ruger secuirty six on pawnshops or on gunbroker it should be cheaper.
It's bigger then a sp101 but smaller then a gp100 and could still be carried comfortably.

Ignore that faggot, if ur dead set on .357 mag then get you one, I still highly recommend you look for a used ruger Security six I paid $400 at pawnshop after haggle. It has that tank built that all rugers are know for and can be cc comfortably.
But of u change ur mind I guess find a used glock 19 and some hst 147 +p and be done with it.

Get off your ass and do the leg work. Visit every gun shop, pawn shop, coffe shop, bathhouse and outhouse in a 50 mile radius. I'm talking a hard target search.
Do the work. Check the classifieds. I mean actual dead tree paper classifieds. Check local gun boards in your area. Check national online forums for guns for sale in your state. Check GunBroker for penny auctions. Carry cash. Don't be afraid to make an offer. Haggle. Network.
Do the fucking work. Part of the fun of funs is the search. Have a story. Every time you pull out your pistol to teach your grandkids how to shoot, tell the story. Do the work. Earn the story.
The deals are out there. Go find them.
And for christs sake, don't buy a taurus or something. Buy a gun that'll last a lifetime or three. Don't buy a fun that'll spend more time in the mail on the way to get fixed than in your holster.

OP here. I didn't bitch and moan. I just asked for some advice. I don't have a lot of money, it's difficult for me to travel, and I'm not super educated on guns (very new).
I'm checking shops when I time and gas. Not everyone has the free time and money to blow driving all over the county looking for a good deal. I appreciate the advice but don't be a dick broski

Then buy it. You can fire .32 S&W Long and Short, .32 ACP (if you use your finger nail to pull the rounds out), .32 H&R Magnum, AND of course the absolutely wonderful .327 Magnum. It would be a wonderful gun to carry.
Unless you're talking about the new production 'target' ones. If so, look for an old production carry version, those will conceal a million times better.

I bought a taurus 66 and it is a great gun. very accurate, well over 10,000 38spl and over 3,500 357 mag down the barrel with no issue. Had I gone back and done it again, I would just pay the extra $150 or so for a smith. Nicer finish and they have customer service. Taurus customer service is fucking terrible. I had a tcp that made 4 trips to them for repair and over a year in transit before they sent me a new one which I promptly sold.

after a lot of consideration and lurking I have decided that a shotgun is more or less the best all around gun you can have as a starter/home defense etc.
they are fairly easy to operate, low maintenance, and can have tons of accessories added on to them. also they are fucking badass and as long guns will probably be some of the last type of gun that the grabbers try to go for... if they even have the balls to try
think about how it would feel to ask someone on the other end of a shotgun to give it up.
