Well, I got my M16A1 Clone in trade for a VZ-2008 package back when those were cheap.
I remember a while back I priced out the parts just for that and it was about $800. Probably expect about $900 once you figure shipping and market fluctuations.
The Wood furniture though was $250, back when it was on sale. Looks like it's still $250 Still really amazing furniture for the price point I think.

Yeah, the 'Magazine' ammo is nasty to handle, difficult to load the little 10 round rotary mags with as well because you always drop the cartridge.
We ended up using it because the only other .22lr we have is some fancy Eley target grade stuff which my dad feeds his Anschutz rifle with, and that shit is about $168/1000.

I've used it for a fair bit of geese hunting on local fields trying to get them to stop eating the crops.

Yup. Currently all that is required in California is the bullet button and 10 round magazines. A lot of people make 10/30 magazines which have all the parts of a 30 rounder with a rivet or limiter in side to make it hold only 10 rounds. I prefer them to permanently fixed ones for obvious reasons.
