What is the best 1911 for around $1000 bucks?

List of preference:
1. Springfield
2. ParaUSA
3. Kimber
4. Smith & Wesson
You can get a brand new Springfield Range Officer for $1000 from Cabelas, and elsehwere used for even cheaper.
Used TRP's can be around $1100, I'd get one of those if I wasn't a goddamn poor bastard

If I had $1000 for a 1911 I'd buy a Ruger SR1911 and spend the rest on ammo and magazines.

A used Dan Wesson maybe, but you'd have to be lucky.
CZ makes a mostly stock 1911A1 GI in the $800 range

>Kimber
No, they've been garbage for the past 16 years.

Well aren't most 1911's made in the us around that. I would get one made elsewhere but I heard they are shit

Flips (Rock Island Armory) make perfectly adequate 1911 pistols in the $300 to $500 range (for the more basic models), quality is consistently decent.
They're not sub-MOA race guns, but that's because they're built to old military A1 specs, loose and rattly, but mechanically reliable, handles dirt better, and accurate enough for practical pistol purposes and pistol distances (hit a man sized target at 25yds)
They'll eat hollowpoint ammo like it's nothing.
If you want a cheap 1911, they are genuinely good value.

Ruger basically has the market on quality entry level 1911s built in the states for the price. You start paying for bells, whistles, and brand names beyond $600-700.

Also as mentioned in another 1911 thread up (the one with a big titted anime redhead) the Flips make dual stack 10mm 1911s which is cool.

Most features for the money would go for a Springfield Loaded or a Colt XSE.

I dont get it, is CZ trying to fill a vacancy in the Dan Wesson line up, hoping to cash in on the fan base, or late to the 1911 party?
Combat elite is right around a thousand. Shoots good.
