I never like hearing news about that kind of thing, especially if it's specifically muderbot AI. I really think research into AI should be banned outright because those are far more dangerous than any weapons we've come up with to date. I mean, what if you tell the planebot to not attack something specific, and it determines that the best way of completing a larger objective is to ignore those orders, even if it means overriding several things it's not supposed to have access to but can because a while ago it figured out how to determine what the operating system was doing? And give that thing an internet connection and it WILL find an excuse to nuke something.
I hope they just lied about how good their AI is and fed it data from the simulation that a real pilot didn't have access to.

An AI is determined not only by code but also parameters such as neural network weighting and also inputs while in action. For instance you cannot be certain exactly WHEN the AI detected you and that is a parameter that goes into a complex decision system.
