F-15E Strike Eagles unable to shoot down the F-35

That's an F22

Even though this is a retarded thread, my dick got a bit tingly from the coyote brown.
>>
>>30497542
So with the Bradley they filled the fuel tanks with water so they wouldn't blow up when shot during testing.

What did they stick in the F-15E's to keep them from getting the F35?
>>
Well, its Monday. Time to start the shitposting-train again I guess.
How long before the next "Bring back BB's/Carriers are useless"-tread?
>>
>>30497553

nothing, the F-15E isn't that good WVR in terms of 4th gen fighters (or definitely 5th gen fighters). i'm a F-15E WSO, by the way.

this test is fairly meaningless.
>>
>>30497564
I'm just surprised... well ok maybe not, that they needed a simulated deployment to figure out that a really old fighter plane couldn't shoot down a state of the art one
>>
>>30497564
It's unlikely they got WVR
>>
I believe the Green Lantern Movie shows what exactly happened behind the scenes.

F-15E pilots were told not to shoot the F-35 down or the consequences will never be the same.
>>
>>30497570

eh, you fly tests to validate modeling. plus it's fun.

>>30497578

well that's partly scenario dependent. they could have flown a standard perch BFM setup... but strike eagles aren't fantastic WVR. if it's more of a LFE and the F-15Es were DCA like the article implies, it's still pretty impressive since Mountain Home's the only base with the new APG-82 AESA radar.

What makes the F-15E worse at WVR than the C? I thought they were pretty similar in that area.

dude pentagon wars lmao

why is the f22 so fucking sexy

I don't think they would have done BFM training; they were there for a test in the form of a deployment exercise - it was essentially meant to mimick something along the lines of deploying to some random allied airbase and performing combat ops, with the jet and unit being assessed on being able to achieve sortie rates and the required combat capability.

There could have been WVR combat and BFM, but if there was, it would very likely have started at BVR distances.

Good to see I wasn't the only one.
>>
>>30497580
Most likely, yes. There is an enormous amount of prestige in this project. Any F-15 or F-16 pilot gunning down the F-35 will soon discover what a career limiting move that was.
>>
>>30499525

anyone who thinks this is stupid. nobody outside of the LFE debrief knows who flew pod 7 when it shot pod 18.

is it really so implausible to believe a stealthy aircraft is hard to target when face with a fighter-bomber?

for those of you who aren't understanding this: the F-15E is primarily an air-to-ground machine that represents enough of a credible air-to-air threat to make somebody pause before you roll in behind it. it is NOT the 9G sustained BFM machine that a GE-engined Viper is. it is not the AMRAAM truck that the C model is. it is not the magic in flying form that the F-22 is. it is not the low-speed alpha monster that the F/A-18 in its various flavors are.
>>
>>30497701

CFTs and it's built a lot more sturdily than a C model, and the better engines don't quite make up for it. if you had a F-15E with no CFTs go up against a C model with a 2x2 loadout, then maybe the F-15E would have a chance. don't get me wrong, i love flying the F-15E but we're realistic about its chances air-to-air.
>>
>>30499659
no you idiot the f-35 is a lockheed boondoggle and anything that contradicts this stuff is obviously a conspiracy. you need to wake up and stop drinking the koolaid and if you disagree you're blatantly a shill or just stupid can you now see how much smarter i am than you because i believe the f-35 is shit?

Just no. They've lied and mislead us so many times already with their proclamations of great success that I'll rather wait for the DOT&E's account of the exercise before making any judgements in one direction or another.

Who did what now?

Just read up on how the success at the Marine IOC evaluation was originally reported and then compare that to the DOT&E compiled list of Pentagon Wars II level shit they had to resort to make F-35 "pass" that evaluation
>>
>>30501163

The Marine Corps leadership feels that the F-35B is in good enough shape to be considered IOC. That's literally the only requirement for IOC.

>nobody outside of the LFE debrief knows who flew pod 7 when it shot pod 18.
As if that matters. You are a keyboard warrior, right?

>stealthy aircraft is hard to target
Anyone tested the level of stealth yet? And I don't mean L-M helpfully telling us all it is, like real invisible, ok? Giraffe from SAAB is supposed to see stealth aircrafts now, would be interesting to see if their claims stand up to a test. After all they are a neutral country and can sell this radar to whoever ponies up the moohlas.
>>
>>30501209
>Anyone tested the level of stealth yet

You literally have to do this at every stage of production, with literally thousands of Air Force employees hanging around like gadflies inspecting that shit.
>>
>>30501209

i fly F-15E's. so yeah, i might know something when i say it's a bit of a pig WVR.

ultimately the air-to-air portion of this test doesn't mean much. honestly neither does the air-to-ground GBU-12 portion based on how the new seekers have been underperforming.
>>
For fucks sake, the F-35 doesn't even fly. They use special effects to fake it, but the entire thing is a fraud. A scam being run on the American people. Military brass is complicit, they get part of the cut. They're all corrupt as hell.
>>
>>30501163
>DOT&E list is "forever problems" and not an intentionally harsh assessment every new plane sees similar reports on
