5th Circuit says there is no right to a machine gun.

http://www.sdslaw.us/single-post/2016/06/30/Today-the-Fifth-Circuit-held-that-you-do-not-have-a-Second-Amendment-right-to-a-machinegun

That makes it 4 courts in total that have ruled against Nolo and Co.

Follow the case: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/1681489_NFA_cases__Hollis_and_Watson_v__Lynch__UPDATE_5th_Circuit_says_No_2A_right_to_MG_p_218__.html&page=1

I've been following the case since page 60 or so....
It's been quite the ride.

I do believe we are coming close to using the 4th box of Liberty, no?

Why can't those damn commies leave me and my preferred rate of fire alone
>>
>>30468213
Fucking shocker. This should never have been a constitutional case; merely procedural negligence by the ATF.

Now, it's even more of an uphill battle than it already was for getting full giggle guns. Fucking retards
>>
>>30468213
That's pretty shitty, but I'm not really surprised at this point.
>>
>here, you can own an AR. In fact, you can own as many as you want! And as many magazines as you want!

>oh, your gun, because of a mechanical feature, fires at a certain rate? Whoops, that's not allowed. 20 years in pmita prison for you :^)

If you desolve the machine gun argument down to its very core, it is one of the stupidest things in the world

Who has that dias png that has the CNC instructions embedded? I want to make a copy of it

5th circuit all fired and replaced with people who actually know the constitution when

They are bound by heller and "common use"

>ban a gun/gun feature
>courts work slowly
>by the time the court gets around to it, the banned gun/gun feature is not in "common use"

what is a depressed version of saying "wew"?
>>
>>30468520
It could be argued that due to all the registered machineguns owned by private individuals and registered through the NFA, select fire weapons are very much "in common use" they even have an exact number of how many hundreds of thousands of them are in circulation, whereas normal firearms are uncounted

Feels tyrannical, man.
>>
>>30468213
Nolo is a fucking retard. Can't argue worth a damn and pushes obviously unwinnable cases that will set us back a few generations, if we're being optimistic.
>>
>>30470640
Does anyone know what year this was made in? I want to adjust for inflation
>>
>>30468213
Why would I want a machine gun?
>>
>>30470699
Would be pre 1934, sometime after WW1 I think. That should get you close enough.
>>
>>30470699
I know this one was Jan 1, 1984
>>
>>30470715
Fun, collecting, exterminating pests on my massive property via helicopter, for the hell of it, for my state government and local police backed militia that isn't the national guard or the SSDF. For collecting old and historical relics that would require a bunch of paper work, ids and fingerprinting and registration.

No, the MP40 and M3 greasegun means this was made post WW2, plus the fact that it refers to World War 1 as World War 1
>>
>>30470699
IIRC it was 1958, after the NFA.
>>
>>30470757
Is that not a mail order catalog? NFA did away with those, and it came into effect in 1934. Or was it the GCA that did away with mail ordering of firearms? So much fascist gun control bullshit laws on the books, I have trouble keeping them straight sometimes.
>>
>>30470753
> I could be shooting wold hogs in west texas from a helicopter with a full functioning BAR
Okay now I get it.
>>
>>30470791
You could mail order firearms until GCA 1968. NFA 1934 just instituted the restrictions on what type of firearm was safe enough for anyone to just go and buy (since all these actions were pre NICS)
>>
>>30470791
They either didn't give a fuck about it, or conveniently left out the 200$ stamp part for buyers to discover on another page.
>>
>>30468433
>CNC instructions embedded

Hi.

The Gcode for any given part HAS TO be specifically tailored to your specific setup.

Even if you take two identical mills, if even a single setting is different, you could have a perfect piece come out of one and the other one will crash into your clamps before the spindle even starts turning.

Shit is a lot more complex than a lot of people think.
>>
>>30470838
A 3D printer could possibly work if the plastic shrinkage was kept to a minimum, but trial and error would be needed.
>>
>>30470913

Anything that has to do with the fire control group is tricky. Material properties are not on your side when taking something originally designed for steel or aluminum being made out of ABS or PLA.
>>
>>30470964
You might be able to get away with the sear body, but not the rest of the pieces, which are freely available for purchase and/or manufacture
>>
>>30470741
>those guns at 400+ dollars
what the fuck. was that due to inflation? shit most modern rifles are higher than that.
>>
>>30471063

Surplus. They would purchase crates of the things, ship them over and then sell.
>>
>>30471083
So what happened to all of those rifles? they're still legal with nfa right? since they're preban and such. Yet all I can see in FA are Aks, Macs, and M16s. What happened to all the neat ones?

>>30471112

Only legal if they were registered before they closed it.

The domestically produced shit was cranked out like there was no tomorrow (because there wasn't). I hear tell that there are more registered auto sears for FNC's than there are FNC's in the country, lol.
>>
>>30470699
Sometime after 1946. The one on the bottom left looks to be a Madsen M/46.
>>
>>30471112
Well, the HKs got screwed because of new(like brand fucking new)import regs, and had to be returned to Germany, on H&Ks dime. It's why we suck and they hate us, they're still mad about it.
>>
>>30471193
>>30471136
Well that sucks. So what if someone had a registered fa bit (whatever makes it fa and is registered, receiver? I dunno.) Would that be permanent pretty much?
Like
>buy the bit presumably in a full gun
>part of the gun breaks or some shit
>replace all but that bit
>essentially a 'new' fa rifle but still technically the same?
otherwise it'd be a waste of 10k+ it seems if you can't phoenix it.
>>
>>30471226
>(whatever makes it fa and is registered,
Usually it's the Auto Sear itself (Glock, ARs), but IIRC a receiver even having the hole drilled for an auto sear (even if it doesn't have one) has been counted as a machine gun before.
>>
>>30470741
>>30471063
$459 in 1984 is worth around $1100 nowadays. That isn't much more than a PTR today.
