Which Lee-Enfield is best, /k/?

Also, general Enfield rifle thread.
Probably the No4 Mk1 because of the much improved sights but I can't turn down the appeal of the No1 Mk3 and it's ugly nosecap
Rifle Number Four.
Technically speaking the absolute best Lee Enfield ever made would be a No4 Mk2 from the mid 50s converted by an gunsmith who knew Enfields (probably a UK or Commonwealth one, since it was common to soup up and convert Enfields and they made an art out of it) to 7.62x51.
What that would give you is:
- The last and best Enfield design
- The highest quality of manufacture and fit/finish ever seen in No4 rifles (tied with post war Long Branch)
- Eliminates the obsolete .303
Other contenders are the Envoy, Enforcer, and L42A1 rifles, which only take a second place due to the fact they were not exclusively manufactured on post war Faz Mk2 actions. In the case of the L42 is was made with the best wartime No4T actions but they are still inferior to a '55 PF rifle.
The typically higher quality of No1 rifles from the UK and Aus versus the on average lower quality of wartime No4 rifles does not, in my book, mitigate their inferior design.

>*'55 UF
>No option for the No1 Mk5
It looked like a No1 Mk3 but had a No4 style rear sight system.
The best of both worlds.
