A more interesting question is why are you worried about your gun becoming magnetized? It's probably not really a big deal, and if you're really super concerned you can set up a way to demag it every now and then. Or just buy a mountable holster, or any other manner of securing a gun somewhere.

If you are shooting just copper and lead ammo you will be fine, any magnetic field strong enough to effect them will be strong enough to pull metal through your body, it would have to be like a MRI machine.
The real question is what would happen if you shot a magnet out of a copper barrel?

Once again the magnet isn't ( shouldn't be) strong enough to bend any internal parts.
I haven't done the math but you would probably need some kind of very expensive rare earth magnet to deform the metal parts.
I'm thinking that as long as you don't store you gun on a MRI machine or a junk yard electro magnet it will be fine.

magnets you can buy aren't really gonna be strong enough for this. Even the field from a big neodymium magnet shouldn't be enough to permanently bend an internal component, and I doubt steel (at least without making an electromagnet, and steel would make shit wire) can be magnetized enough to have any noticeable effect on function.

I bought the Gero magnet to mount in the center console of my truck, but I haven't installed it yet. The damn thing is too strong to just screw into the plastic, it needs something solid to mount to. It can hold up a rifle vertically by the tip of the barrel.
