Has anyone made or bought a magnet to hold a gun under a desk or counter? Will it magnetize the gun?
https://youtu.be/0WjJ3TXGnhQ
Yes it will.
>>30446110
Just mount something that will secure it in place, why does this gimmicky shit keep coming up lately?
>>30446150
Like what? A holster?
>>30446179
Like a magnet.
>>30446211
Exactly. I fail to see how a magnet is a gimmick.
>>30446239
A more interesting question is why are you worried about your gun becoming magnetized? It's probably not really a big deal, and if you're really super concerned you can set up a way to demag it every now and then. Or just buy a mountable holster, or any other manner of securing a gun somewhere.
>>30446262
I don't want the magnetization to slow down the bullets I shoot.
If you magnetize a barrel and fire a steel core/jacketed bullet, what would happen?
>>30446280
Do you shoot ferric rounds?
If you are shooting just copper and lead ammo you will be fine, any magnetic field strong enough to effect them will be strong enough to pull metal through your body, it would have to be like a MRI machine.
The real question is what would happen if you shot a magnet out of a copper barrel?

What if the magnet bends the internal components?
>>30446490
Then your gun was shit to begin with
>>30446490
Once again the magnet isn't ( shouldn't be) strong enough to bend any internal parts.
I haven't done the math but you would probably need some kind of very expensive rare earth magnet to deform the metal parts.
I'm thinking that as long as you don't store you gun on a MRI machine or a junk yard electro magnet it will be fine.
>>30446538
I always store my guns at junk yard electro magnets, yo!
>>30446560
I don't always get an MRI, but when I do, I'm armed.
>>30446280
>>30446290
>>30446490
magnets you can buy aren't really gonna be strong enough for this. Even the field from a big neodymium magnet shouldn't be enough to permanently bend an internal component, and I doubt steel (at least without making an electromagnet, and steel would make shit wire) can be magnetized enough to have any noticeable effect on function.
>>30446280
how do you think a rail gun works? more magnets means faster bullets.
>>30446581
>steel would make shit wire
found the public school kid
>>30446280
You fucking moron
>>30446674
Explain!
>>30446116
So?
I'm willing to bet that the first round fired from the gun will clear the magnetization due to shock received.
>>30446682
Standard bullet is copper jacket with lead core yes? Okay, neither one is ferrous meaning magnet has no affect.
Bullet is steel core with copper jacket, yes? Neither metal is ferrous. Same as above.
Only exception would be with extremely high power magnet.
>>30446705
no sense for irony or for getting messed around with is a sign of the 'tism ...
>>30446705
>Bullet is steel core with copper jacket, yes? Neither metal is ferrous.
>steel
>not ferrous
>>30446606
This is why I stick magnets at the tip of my barrel.
So when the bullet hits it it accelerates faster.
>>30446748
Iron is magnetic. Steel typically is not magnetic due the processes it goes through from being iron into steel. Did none of you pay attention in school?
I bought the Gero magnet to mount in the center console of my truck, but I haven't installed it yet. The damn thing is too strong to just screw into the plastic, it needs something solid to mount to. It can hold up a rifle vertically by the tip of the barrel.
>>30446771
i think you mean stainless steel
>>30446904
There are several types of stainless steel some are magnetic some are not. It depends of the amount of nickel, chromium, and other components.
For the fun to become magnetized, you'd need to stroke it. Regularly. In the same direction. Like you do to yourself at night, in your Mum's basement.
>pic is assistive.
>>30447064
>in the same direction
I'll tell you what, my life changed when I discovered the infinite penetration method of masturbation.
>>30447109
It's the Bomb eh?
>>30447109
Go on...
>>30446179
The correct answer is, yes a fucking holster.
>>30446692
This
>>30446759
If you them all on one side you can curve the bullet
>>30447321
It's where you alternate hands, stroking towards your body so it's like your dick is infinitely long going into an infinite vagina/asshole.
>>30447791
Fuck Gauss - real science right here boys!
>>30446110
>Has anyone made or bought a magnet to hold a gun under a desk or counter?
yes
in fact a bunch of companies have
