Thoughts?
Worth grabbing before they disappear?
https://www.classicfirearms.com/makarov-bulgarian-9x18-semi-auto-excellent-like-new
Sure. They're really fun to shoot and look pretty nice minus dickgrips. The mags are a pain in the ass to load though, but i'd say go ahead. I got one a few days ago.
Buy it, faggot
>>30438361
>he doesn't like the dickgrips
>>30437312
>9x18
Isn't that a .380?
>>30438424
No. .380 is 9x17mm.
>>30438424
>what is 9x21
>>30437312
J&G had them for $300 flat, that is where I got mine recently. Log books, matching mags, etc. My serial ends in .380 so the gun shop tried to sell me .380 ammo...lol
>>30437312
Dude, those things were literally just on sale for $280 2 weeks ago. Also JG Sales has them for $300.
>>30438438
Just putting this out there, /k/: always look elsewhere before buying from Classic. They're always charging more than everyone else. Plus they're jackasses. I'd only buy from Classic if everyone else is sold out first.
>>30438472
Agreed.
The only thing worth purchasing from them is their P64's because the import stamp is under the frame in front of the trigger guard. Fuck importers who ruin the gun by engraving fuck huge text on the slides.
>>30438431
it is 9x18mm smartass
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9%C3%9718mm_Makarov
>>30438768
Man I hate that shit. I swear some of them are just fucking with us
>entire gun is bare from the factory with maybe one little set of markings
>have almost the whole surface to choose for import marks
>IMPORTED BY COCKSMOKERS INC GUIDOVILLE NJ USA poorly electropenciled in 1" characters across the entire left side of the slide
>>30438798
I swear US Import requirements are fucked up.
I know import marks are there to verify that they are legal. But hell, why cant they be INSIDE the gun, or UNDER the grip panels.
Somewhere unobtrusive.
>>30438841
I've seen a lot of importers putting their information on the bottom of the dustcover where it's unobtrusive. No idea why everyone doesn't do this.
>>30438899
Yup thats y i ended up going with a p64 from classic in "good" condition vs pristine from elsewhere. Well worth the extra 20 and slide wear to not see import billboard on slide
>>30437312
Yeah, do it.
I'm moving to a free state soon and I'll be picking one up once I arrive. Cuckifornia doesn't like bulgy maks, and I can't find any for private party sales except price gouging people who want like 500-600 for one in bad condition.
Get a 21 pound Wolff recoil spring.
They are decent enough 8+1 guns. Makarov caliber is relatively panic proof too.
>>30438768
>>30438798
Its not really the importers fault, they used to be fairly tucked away in years past but the ATF has basically gotten more strict on import related stuff.. just blame the ATF
>>30439599
> just blame the ATF
Easy enough
>>30438361
>The mags are a pain in the ass to load
Get or make one of these.
>presses down the "loading lever" on the side and make them a breeze to load.
>>30440122
German Mags don't have that bit of spring wire that sticks out.
>>30440172
Ok and?
I thought this thread is about Bulgarian Maks?
>Nowhere in the post I quoted does it say it was an EG.
Never had a pistol? Should I buy this?
>>30437312
Maks are usually a good decision.
Hell, my father bought a new Russian IJ70 in 1992 for $150. Last year he found the same model in great condition at a pawn shop for $150. We thought there was an error, but that's what it said. We picked it up on the spot.
>>30440737
Yes, comrade.
>>30440737
They are great firearms, only thing that I'd say is bad is the trigger takes ages to break.
>>30437312
For sure. I bought a Bulgarian Mak with 4 mags and some other accessories for $420 a couple years ago in a private sale before private sales were illegal in Oregon.
>>30438361
>The mags are a pain in the ass to load though
PROTIP: The mags are open so just pull the spring itself down on the last round instead of pushing on the stack. The eighth round just drops in.
>>30439537
What's the point of the spring replacement?
>>30442595
Less felt recoil, less snap, less palm slap, and protects your gun from wear as most surplus blowback guns have worn springs. Blowback handguns are tough on themselves, gotta watch the springs.
Get on OP
Love my Bulgy Mak.
I bought it about a year ago for $299. I thought it was just going to be my little beater gun, but it's such a thing of beauty that I treat her like royalty and take glamour shots.
Not to bad considering the Ammo is like 25-35 cents a pop, Pretty reliable and a showoff gun.
380 sounds fair but it doesn't sound like an impulse buy.
380 sounds fair.
How do Bulgarian Maks compare to Russian Maks?
>>30444923
I have both and the soviet finish seems a lot nicer
>>30444923
aside from the looks you can always get a spring kit from wolff springs and replace the bulgarian stuff with east german internals.
>>30438424
9x18 > .38 Special > .380
>>30444923
well I can tell you that Germans have tighter tolerances than any others.
>>30440172
My EG mags do.
>>30443508
What holster is that?
I got a question guys. I've tried buying from Classic a couple of times, but every time I do my debit card gets declined. What gives? I've bought guns online before. Bought my AR from Bud's. Anyone else ever experience this? Is it 'cause I'm 20 and not 21?
>>30437312
I like mine. 600+ rounds through it now and not a single misfire. Heavy as a fucker but very accurate.
Ruined my finish because of memes.
The Makarov is the most versatile pistol ever.
>>30451189
holy shit
>>30438438
How's that Sig 1911? I hear mixed reviews
