looks like you just have to kill yourself.

No, I can't do Aviation now, or anytime in the future most likely. Basicaly I'm fucked because I spent too much time playing vidya and shitposting on a tibetan glass blowing enthusiast board. I can't even be the guy in the backseat because of the eye sight regulations. So now I'm going to consider EoD or Special Warfare because Surface Warfare/Submarines would be the death of me.

Don't worry m8, lots of people have successful careers at Nuke officers. Sure you'll never get to fly a plane or have any fun, and you'll have to spend long hours triple checking paperwork for the lowest common denominator that made it through prototype because it's your ass on the line, and you'll never ever get to enjoy any visit to a foreign port for more than a night because you have to babysit a cold rock the next day, and you'll find yourself struggling for advancement in a field that perplexing can't hold junior officers, but for some reason can't get rid of the old ones filling up all the best billets, and even though they promise you solid bonuses you'll realize you're still roughly being paid the same amount as the officer who supervises the people who fill up the soda machines, and your chiefs will constantly treat you like a retard and there's nothing you can do about it because they can ruin you even faster than the junior enlisted fucking up, and the stress will eventually make you wonder why the fuck you joined the Navy at all when you could of just got a job at GE doing real engineering or something, and why the fuck do have to share a a state room with that idiot from OPs who literally stays up all night and sleeps in during the morning while your ass is the one on port and starboard watches because the newer officers are retarded and can't get qualified and jesus fucking christ why are you right below the flight deck doing a 150 catches every night when there's not even an operation and the state room never fucking makes your eggs right though all you really want are them scrambled with a little fucking cheese BUT THEY CAN'T EVEN DO THAT RIGHT AND THEY EXPECT YOU TO KEEP AN ARMY OF SOCIAL REJECTS FROM MELTING DOWN A REACTOR WHEN THE CONCEPT OF POINT-READ-OPERATE SEEMS TO FUCKING ELUDE SO MUCH THEY'RE CONSTANTLY FUCKING OPERATING THE WRONG VALVES OR NOT READING DANGER TAGS MEANING YOU HAVE TO WRITE TRAINING FOR 500 OF THE ASSHOLES FFFFFFFFFFFF

Wasn't my choice, and though I got it over ABM so thank fucking Christ. And from what I understand from the guys I know, a lot of the shit morale comes from fighter -jocks stuck into shitty little boxes. And hey, the $$$ once I get out is a nice consolation prize.

And go luck Navy-anon, remember that it's all about perspective.
>>
I know you're young and this seems like an utter catastrophe, but things really do tend to work out anon.Maybe there's another job in the Navy you'd be good at. Maintaining planes for example, or medical.
Life is all in how you play the cards you've been dealt.

Hence why I would rather die than be an ABM, which from what I understand is even worse.

I'm a pilot with 20/20.
I thought the requirement was 'correctable' to 20/20?
Are you below the allowable limit? Am I understanding or am I missing something...?

It's not bad, it's just not for me.

>>30391675
It's not the end of the world, I know that. I've wanted to be in the Military since I was 5 or 6 years old, I'll find something else I'll enjoy. EOD and Special Warfare are both very appealing to me, but it will be an extremely tough journey.

>>30391921
I'm near sighted. In the Navy, a prospective aviatior cannot have a prescription for nearsightedness that goes past a -1.50 diopter. Pretty sure the Air Force has the same, if not stricter requirements. Before this eye exam, I was at a -1.25 prescription, but after it I was bumped up to -1.75 in each eye. Maybe it used to be just correctable to 20/20? Because I swear to god when I was going over this information in highschool a few years ago, I thought that I had plenty of wiggle room in terms of how bad my eyes could get for aviation.

>>
>>30392068
Do we have any idea on how long it'll take to get enlisted flying the 4s? And how many potential RPA pilots get selected for them over the 9s/1s.

You know, just asking for a friend because the air force is bad at telling its contracted cadets what their future is going to look like.
>>
That being said, my prescription is a -2.50, but I just realized the Navy Chart I'm reading isn't taking about prescriptions, at least I don't think it is. Does this possibly mean I'm not boned? Should probably go have a chat with the detachment commander.

Considering that SEALs are one of the premier SOF units right now, and that Navy EoD conducts a lot of missions where they work with SoF personnel, I think there's a pretty high chance of some gun fights happening if I go that route. But, I could be wrong.

Would you say that the Navy Seals have not been the premier SOF force in the past few years considering their high pace operational tempo, media attention, and the fact that the Navy was running the CJSOTF?

I'm considering DEVGRU an extension of the SEALs in this instance.

What?

i dunno, I had great astb scores, 3.5 gpa and stem degree but got turned down for SWO
aviation is taking in a lot of people too so I have a good shot of getting it.

Great, so not only am I already disqual'd from Aviation, but I was disqual'd in a time where it would have been relatively easy to get an aviation commission.

The whole point of them being front and center is to DIVERT attention from better SOF teams.

you walk by it and remember the last 4 lines, then when you take the exam you sputter out like you can barely read them. ive been staring at computer screens my whole life and lo and behold i have "20/20 vision"
>>
>>30392542
depends, theres two types of EOD in the navy. every SEAL mission brings an EOD personnel along with them because EOD not only knows how to disarm bombs they also know how to blow shit up. SF EOD learns more of the "blow shit up" instead of the "keep shit from blowing up" part. EOD is physically trained to keep up with SEALs and have to pass the same if not similar firefight quals. if you go special forces in EOD it's not a question of if you see combat its a question of where you'll see combat.
>>
>>30396401
>le ebin 11b "delta is better" meme
navy SEALs perform the most stringent and difficult operations of any non-tier-1 special forces detachment, comparing DELTA to SEAL is like comparing SEAL to 11b. DELTA and ST6 are a more accurate comparison but even then they do different shit.
>>
>>30398857
to further extrapolate on this its more difficult to become a special warfare EOD person than it is to become Navy SWCC
>>
>>30396401
MARSOC is full of literal retards and Rangers aren't special forces.
>>
>>30391653
Lol gottem
>>
>>30396401
you obviously have very little knowledge about what you're talking about. SEAL team 6 is directly connected to the president of the united states. DELTA isn't. DELTA is connected to a general whos connected to the president.
>>
>>30391528
that's what happens when you stare at computer screens all day anon.
