So it is babby's first AR build and im looking for some information on how i should go about building my first AR-15. I really like Magpul's A E T H S E T I C and would love to build an AR that looks like pic. I have a budget of $900.
What manufacturers should I go to/stay away from for parts?
Reputable dealers/sites to buy parts from?

its quite possible to build that for 900 if you are willing to give up on that specific rail and flashider

I'm also looking at building my first AR, as well as modifying the one I now have.
Does anyone have experience with piston conversion kits?
Are they worth the effort? Are there any brands to avoid?

I actually like the A2 grips - I hated any other I have used
The scope I got for $25 or something
It's just a Chinese knockoff, but I got it second hand (unused) - works great
Rifle length everything
Low profile gas block plus angled foregrip & rails on 2 sides iirc

what barrel length is that?
I built mine off an Anderson lower, DD parts kit and furniture, and a complete mid-length upper from BCM.
It was a bit over 900 due to the DD furniture/parts kit. Magpul furniture and any milspec parts kit will work for cheaper.
