what does /k/ carry?
I have a dewalt pocket knife, love this shit
I'm carrying a Sog Twitch 2 right now
>>30355829
Just bought a Kershaw Brawler last night.
>>30355829
happy fathers day to me
SOG Switch 2.0
>>30355829
SERATIONS REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>30357514
what does that even mean?
>>30355887
>make really cool pliers
>implied a shitty blade
mfw
It's a piece of shit. I mean it cuts rope and zip ties just fine, but I've already stripped the torque screw and can no longer tighten it. No the blade has a shit ton of play.
Also the blade steel is some shitty 440 something, sharpens fine but doesn't hold an edge long.
I leave it in my toolbox as a beater knife. Do not recommend.
>>30358217
*now the blade has a shit ton of play
Seriously, those cheap Gerber knives at Home Depot are better. And that's saying something.
>>30355829
One of these.
Kershaw Cryo, it's shaving sharp once again and I'm just now having to tighten the pocket clip screws after two years of carrying it every day.
>>30355829
I'm vaguely reminded of Kruger's knife in "Mission Impossible".
>>30357535
Serrated edges, the toothy bits closer to the hilt on the blade. Dunno why anon's reeing they can come in handy and look cool.
>>30357535
sorry.. serrated/partially serrated blades seem to trigger the sperglords .. i actually agree with >>30358356
>>30357514
Serrations are better for cutting plastic, like zipties. It's supposed to be a utility knife, so it makes sense. Absolute garbage though like I said here:>>30358217
That said, for bushcraft and hunting I carry a straight edge blade like a Condor Bushlore or Buck 110.
If you actually sharpen your knife serrations are just useless and annoying.
>>30358522
Serrations are useless for everything, including rope and plastic. SERRATIONS ARE A MEME
>>30358633
>Serrations are useless for everything
except starting fights with sperglords
>>30358217
my knife?
>>30358356
ive never had a need for it yet
>>30358593
i can get that
>dewalt
>tanto
>serrations
Fuck
>>30359312
Why is serrated bad tho?
>>30355850
Out of all the kershaws you get that disgusting tanto? First knife?
>>30359359
It's not, they're just not typically put on tanto knives
>>30359359
Because a straight edge with cut better and a saw will saw better.
>>30359381
i dont know enough about knives, I really need to learn more
>>30359384
i can see that
>>30359359
cuz autism doesn't like what you like
>>30359399
Educate yourself, this is what a sexy and useful knife looks like
>>30359381
yes they are, man
>>30359422
Ah ok. Got it. I had a feeling.
>>30359436
and i bet your knife doesn't come a simi life time warrenty, I literally traded my knife in at Home Depot for a new one yesterday (the clip broke and they said they'd exchange it)
Also what do you guys think of Cold steel?
suh-ray-shuns are bad cuz i don't need them to open packages from amazon or bags of doritos
>>30359442
Well, that doesn't stop it from looking silly
Tantos should be for stabby, not slicey or chewy
>>30359459
Any knife manufacturer would a damn provides free replacement parts no questions asked. Go do some research kid
>>30359459
Dude that's the store, not the knife maker
>memesteel
>>30359519
Tantos are paired with combi-edges on most cheap knives to make them more appealing to the average (stupid) person.
>>30359537
no it's the knife maker, I called them up to see if I could just replace the part by them and they said that all Dewalt knives come with this.
>memesteel
explain please. Is it because the katanas?
I'd be lying if I said I didn't want one
>>30359572
Buddy, like >>30359523 said, all manufacturers do that. Do yourself a favor and buy a budget edc from an actual knife company.
>>30359564
S'what I'm preaching man
>>30359597
this knife was 25 how is that not budget? I'm not buying some 10 buck shit knife
>>30359564
100 times this. Tanto and partial serrations are what people who only buy one knife for 5 years look for.
>>30359617
>buck
>shit
You already bought a shit knife anon
>>30359640
well fuck you anon I like it
>>30355829
Dis shit
>>30359653
Good for you. Now quit being butthurt when you get told the truth and take some advice.
>>30359673
>the truth
jesus man, shut up
>>30359673
>the truth
Truth =/= opinion
>>30359672
>spyderfags shilling the entire thread
>>30359572
Cold Steel is the one of the best balances of design, price and materials. Tell me this is sexy as fuck
>>30359720
its nice but not my style
>>30359720
it's ugly.
>>30359745
Spydershit is ugly you faggot
>>30359608
yeah well I like spelling things out ok
>>30355839
I have the twitch 2 and flash 2 and they're both great,I just wish I didn't have to sharpen the aus8 steel so often.
>>30359851
Do you strop?
>>30359880
No strop, does that make a big difference?
>>30359818
Yeah well I like parousing antique stores while dressed as a mime alright?
>>30359919
depends on how you sharpen
>>30359932
I use the spyderco sharpmaker and that gets them sharp enough to shave with
Cold steel 4in ti lite
Never need or want another pocket knife
>>30359720
>that is considered a sexy knife.
my god the summer /k/amp is real in this thread.
But seriously, Cold Steel knives are fine from what I hear. Just don't go for any of their swords.
This is what I've been carrying for a little over a year now. Never held a more comfortable knife. Or used one that is easier to cut with or holds an edge as long as this one. And I promise you I didn't buy just because it's called a shenanigan.
>>30357669
if you are looking for a multi-tool for your main blade then you are retarded. the serrations on a multi-tool blade makes it more useful not less.
>>30360035
How about a 6 inch ti lite
Needs more benchmade
>>30360163
Real benchmade please
Victorinox Swiss Tool Spirit x at work
Charge TTi or a large folder when off
i keep the Victorinox immaculate and only lubricated with food grade mineral oil as I work for a catering company.
carried a Gerber EAB and a Vic manager for many years though as i could beat up the blade on the Gerber and just swap in a new one
>>30360180
>>30360163 was made in the same factory as the 810. The 14460 is a usa product not an import.
Will the 810s axis lock still be working after 10 years? Maybe. I know my liner lock is still perfect as is the assist mech.
Don't confuse the 14460 with the cheap hk knives.
>>30360515
Ok you can stay
>>30360135
Sweet. The 6in is intimidating
anybody edc one of these? i really like it but it seems a little big. opinions?
>>30359919
Yes,stropping means less sharpening and a longer lasting blade
>>30360672
I carried the blunt tip version. Yes you are right in that it's big.
I love the knife but it's still just a bit out of my comfort zone for EDC. Instead I gotta a surprisingly decent Kershaw Cryo for my everyday abuse. Now this one is a little too small but it's holding up well for a $25 knife.
I keep the Triage in the car in case I ever get into a serious car accident or something.

My GF got me a Schrade knife, are they any good?
>>30360853
kek that's a knife?
>>30360853
stop biting your fingernails
Only knife I usually edc. 99% I only ever need a small blade
>>30355829
>Dewalt pocketknife
It's shit desu. Go big or go home.
>>30360853
nuSchrade is garbage, just like nuBuck and nuGerber. Prime Schrades are classic and high quality though.
>>30360853
Dump your GF.
