Glock is never a bad choice then. Personally I love my taurus pt 92, but you have a nice variety to choose from in that price range. I feel like you could get most mid tier nines, used at least, for under 500.

this was my first gun and this is what you want for cheap 9mm tbqh fampai. 300$ brand new from my LGS with 2 16rd mags (ruger 9e only comes with one, and isnt as good of a gun imo)
the only thing that isnt so awesome is the trigger, but that can be replaced with an apex tactical for 40 bucks if you want

That would work, but gun stores sell used guns as well. Of course the bigger the gun store the bigger variety, but in my experience bigger stores like to jack their prices sometimes. Also sporting goods stores don't typically sell used, just gun stores, in case you weren't sure.
