FiFi, the only flying B-29
de Havilland Mosquito, one of only two that are still flying. Some crazy brits came up with the idea of making a plane out of plywood.
Vought F4U Corsair, the first plane designed to exceed 400mph.
North American P-51 Mustang. These thing were still in service with the Guatemalan air force until the 1970s.

Not for long! Restoration has been completed on a second B-29 ("Doc"), and it will return to the skies shortly.

>be living in Dallas
>CAF is moving their HQ to the old Executive Airport
>hold big airshow
>decide to go
>oh boy it's a B29
>oh boy oh boy it's huge
>time for B29 flight
>oh boy oh boy oh boy
>engines start
>loud and deep as fuck noise of four Duplex Cyclone engines
>I may have a freedom boner at this point
>continue to feel like a 12 year old kid living the dream as they take off and fly around
It was pretty awesome. Go if you get a chance.

I live in ND now so I'm rarely in texas. That being said, I do have a Fifi story from before I moved.
>4ish years ago
>brothers friend has been CAF pilot for years
>at quail creek gun range off I-35E with brother
>hear big radial engines, see Fifi flying high overhead
>range is full of old fudds who are tickled
>brother texts his friend and asks if he's flying Fifi
>"lol yes"
>tells him where we are
>few minutes later start to hear big radial engines
>much louder this time
like, really loud.
>all of a sudden a big shadow ad Fifi does a very low pass right over the range, flying right over the benches going directly downrange.
>fudds beside themselves in joy
Its been several years so I can't give an accurate estimate on high high he was, but I'd say 2000 feet tops. Had the engines cranked for that pass too, the range rattled. That was cool as shit.
>just casually texting while flying the last B-29

The Mid-Atlantic Air Museum is working on a P-61 which would make it the only flying P-61. All these photos I shot were at the MAAM's annual WWII weekend.
B-17, just because.

I remember that documentary.
sorry for potato quality but picture of the last 2 flying lancasters when they were together in the UK last year
>>30335622
That's awesome. That flight from Canada to the U.K. must have been something else. I got to the see a Lancaster a few years back when it was at the WWII show.
Two MD Air Guard A-10s gave us a pre-show buzz and 4 pass demo on their way to Ft. Indiantown Gap.

it really was, I think they did a show down south somewhere with another Lancaster which can taxi but not fly and some stuff with the red arrows and a bunch of spitfires- looked great on tv
another potato pic related is the last ever flight of the Vulcan bomber as it went over my house on its way to the factory where it was produced
