You know those old canned food jars with the built-in lid closing thing?
It works kind of like that. There is a sliding extractor that pushes a round into the chamber and pulls it out, but the locking mechanism moves up and down.
Of note, it locks into place by mating with the extractor piece.
>>30330249
the extractor piece at it's rearward travel has a ramp that pushes the empty case stuck on it upward, then as it goes forward again the case is jammed into a tube above the barrel and ejects out the front like that one bullpup.

ummm, space age materials
>>30329663
The only official space gun.
Anything from Cobalt Kinetics.
>>30330976
Spaceships, like airplanes, are tinfoil thin in certain sections to reduce weight. They designed to be exceptionally strong in certain ways but extremely flimsy in others so damn near anything can cause a hull breach and loss of internal pressure.
Thermobarics might not work in the vacuum of space. I don't really know and you've got me thinking.
>>30330479
I thought they spelled Vector with a k..
>>30330976
If detonated within pressurized section it would behave just like a regular thermobaric as long as there is air for it to consume, even more so if the air is oxygen enriched.
Although detonating one in vacuum would only solve to spread a liquid full around the outside of a ship.
>>30331190
I want that bullpup.
>>30331174
Wouldn't work, you need the atmosphere and its pressure to mix and shape properly your explosive, without it it would dissipate pretty much instantly at its initial velocity instead of stabilizing into a homogenous cloud, and even then you lack a medium to transmit the shockwave around. Of course it would work if you get a direct impact and penetrate the hull but even then your explosives would not mix evenly and there would be no particular point for it over opther kind of solid explosives. In lack of direct impact, the only other viable solution for space combat is smart ammunition with directed energy explosions, mega sized Bofor Bonus rounds with directed energy nukes, that sort of things.
>>30328838
is that a carbon fiber tube on that suppressor?
bretty neat bro
>>30331228
we all do.
>>30331174
They need oxygen to work. So no.
>>30330976
Depends a lot on the application of the aircraft. Let's say something made to reenter the atmosphere, it would survive a thermobaric explosion but the ISS would burst like a bubble since none of that was in the requirements of it's construction.
Also notice that even those things can only endure such extreme conditions in very specific scenarios, a slight change in angle would actually fuck it up since the entire craft is not really fully shielded.
As >>30331174 anon said, they have such weight constraints that they have to meet during the project they can't just make bomb proof stuff if there's no bomb in the requirements to begin with.
>>30328931
That bit bolted onto the front is just a flash hider cover, it doesn't do shit.

>>30331460
It was never a real gun, just a mock-up. The germans did the G11, so someone in France asked GIAT "hey guys what would a super duper science fiction gun look like if we were to do the same ?"
They said "something like this" and thus PAPOP was born.
It was supposed to feature a Famas action with a 40 rounds straight mag designed after the existing 25 rounds (there were several attempts to make different famas mags compatible with the magwell). Also a 40mm rocket launcher with a tubular magazine and a calculator. A camera linked to the soldier's helmet to shoot from a cover (this capability was kept on FELIN). And other stuff like thermal and night sights with a longer range.
In practice the only relevant thing that was done with this prospect was the lighter version of this mock-up, which was achieved with the help of some design school students, and featured a... Kinda interresting let's say, way of figuring means to handle a gun in non-conventional stances (aka : oversized grips and the like).
Fun fact : there was no thumb hole on the original papop. Just a thumb rest like on some rocket launchers. The smaller more handy version was just a G2 with a different casing and a 40mm tube on top (USGI 5.56 mags compatible magwell too).
It's in pic related on the bottom, alongside other shots of the larger mock-up prototype. Sorry for the size, this project was new when the internet was new too, so I made a collage of what I had on my hard drive.

In a dark future where pistol grips and flash hiders are banned, the AR15 evolves and lives on, taking on a pseudo-futuristic design.

Also finding documents about the soviet space program is pretty hard since they were obviously heavily classified and because that government totally collapsed. Until 2015 there wasn't even an actual photograph of the finished weapon, just this early prototype.
