Is a weapon light a bad idea on your CCW? Is it even necessary?
>>
>>30248974
I don't really see the point in having a light on a CC, if your drawing you can probably already see your assailant.
>>
>>30248974
Of course it's not "necessary", but I mean if you can make it work then why not have it? I imagine a laser would be especially useful in a self defense situation, considering you probably won't be looking down the sights anyway.

I ask because I'm tempted to CC a setup like pic related in a shoulder holster. But while it looks cool, and would double as a good HD/bedside gun, my brain keeps saying "just trade it for a G17 and slap some night sights on, you mall-ninja!"
>>
Curious about this. I don't see why not

Bump

>Is a weapon light a bad idea on your CCW?
No. It's a good idea.
Is it even necessary?
Not necessary, but it should be the next thing to get after good night sights.

Most self-defense shootings take place at night and dimly lit areas. It's good to be able to positively ID a potential threat. Could end up shooting a son/daughter/roommate trying to sneak back into your home. Also, light will blind the target.

TLR6 is a good light for smaller guns.
>>
>>30249000
Nice trips, but a 34 is a big gun to CC, especially with a light.
>>
>>30249001
Wouldn't it add extra bulk and weight?
>>
>>30249188
CC add extra bulk and wight too.
>>
>>30249001
Bump as well. I'm curious both about the use of lights in CC, but about a G34 for CC.
>>
friendly reminder if you're going to cc a gun with a weaponlight, you should still always carry a pocket light
>>
>>30250995
OP here, I know-I have a great little light for general use, but there's just so much conflicting crap online about lights and CCW.
>>
>>30249000
>shoulder holster.
Take an ankle holster and wrap it around your shoulder?

Are your arms that small?
>>
>>30250995
Not directed at OP, but FUCKING THIS.

>newfag drops his keys at night
>Can't see under car
>'That's right! I have a flashlight!'
>Draws CCW to use the light
>Soccer moms call 911, enjoy your brandishing charge.
>>
>>30251192
No, I just prefer shoulder holsters. I wear a jacket pretty much every day, and I'm constantly in and out of my vehicles. Plus, I already use a shoulder holster, so it feels natural.
I have nothing against other carry types. This is just what I prefer.

This video should give you a better look into ccing with a weapon light.

I use my cell phone light for that
>>
I would recommend adding a light to your EDC and training in shooting with an offhand light. Strapping the light to your firearm limits its versatility. Sometimes you need a light but not a gun. I'm certainly not going to want to carry two lights, and I'm not about to pull my ccw to look for shit in a dark car. It's better to just pack a good hand light.
>>
>>30248974
No, you're far more likely to be involved in a violent situation in bright daylight like the majority of videos of defensive shootings.

Actually come to think of it, most idiots are smart enough to wait until dark to attack/rob/etc.

Screw the light you'll be fine bub

>No, you're far more likely to be involved in a violent situation in bright daylight like the majority of videos of defensive shootings.

And you're far more likely to go about your daily life without needing to use your gun. What's your fucking point?

It's night time half the time, quit being stupid.
>>
>>30249000
>"just trade it for a G17 and slap some night sights on, you mall-ninja!"
Night sights aren't a substitute for a good light, but a good light can be a substitute for night sights.
>>
>>30252856
Or JUST have a light on your gun and a light in your pocket. Lights can be small these days without sucking.

Yes, I highly recommend crimson trace.
>>
>>30253274
What's the fucking point? Those shitty lasers are always like a foot or more off target from just a couple feet away.
>>
>>30249040

What about a separate flashlight so it's easier to conceal?
>>
>Tfw most lights extend past the barrel on a G17 and look dumb
Oh, well.
>>
>>30253312
Time stamp with your laser, cause you're full of shit.

The point is instant target acquisition for public use scenarios. I personally would like to know where each shot it going each time I pull the trigger. It is dead on, if not there is adjustments that can be made. Great to utilize with CC'ing.
Since you are so quick to talk shit, why don't you try one first.
>>
>>30253312
>What's the fucking point?

I used to ask this, until I figured out the primary use is for when you're in a position where you have to shoot quick and can't get the gunsights up in time, like if some fag knocks you down before raping you.

Nigger they offer lifetime warranties and free batter replacement.
>>
>>30252922

I'm sure that, like you, he spends most nights awake and wandering around in the woods away from any source of artificial light.
>>
While we have a thread like his open how good is the Streamlight TLR-4, I'm thinking about getting one for my CZ P0-7 duty.

I'd like my HD/bedside pistol to double as my CCW. And pic related-my hands are larger than my TT33, and I'm 6 foot 4, 220lbs. I much prefer full-sized handguns if at all possible.
>>
Does anyone know any good holsters and light for a G19
>>
>>30253396
Because there's no such thing as dark areas in the daytime right? Again, stop being retarded. You don't know jack shit.

Do you even carry a gun? I hope not. For the safety of other people.
>>
>>30252824
200 bucks for a light.
>nah
>>
>>30253694
Either pay out for a custom job (a local custom holster guy will definitely be at your next gunshow), or buy some kydex and make your own.

So I'm 100% good with a SCCY and an IO ak? They both offer warranties.

that's just dumb. I hope you don't carry, cause you're retarded.

you should carry a separate light. You can use the light when just needing to see. A weapon light allows for a free hand...With that hand you can easily do reloads, clear jams, open doors, etc, etc.
>>

>welcome to life in the middle class

I'm lower middle class and I'm able to afford a $200 light. What is your excuse?

You can get a lot more ammo if you buy a $100 light.

Even more if you get a $30 light

I have a protac as my edc light and got 2,000 rounds of 9mm the other day? What's your point?
