More than you can afford pal.

depends on rank, any combat pay/ tax exempt status and incentive pay like flight/jump/sea.

Google it.

Google military pay scale. The number yoy see by rank and time in service is jist base pay, i.e. fuck around money. Service members are also entitled to basic allowance for subsistence, i.e. food money which is around 350 a month, and basic allowance for housing, which varies by rank and where the service member is stationed, i.e. rent money based on how expensive the neighborhood is.

A single servicemember, however, is usually compelled to live in unit barracks and eat at unit dining facilities, so his bas and bah will be recouped.

Thus the unintentional result is that dumb privates marry dependas to get the fuck out of the barracks.

I made 15k on my 1st deployment. 17k on second. Say about 24k total a year, more for married douches.

Keep in mind my housing, dental, and medical were provided for. You come back from deployment with a lot of money in bank account because on deployment you spend very little, plus extra hazard pay. Also I was muhreen Infantry you probably make a little more with that e4 specialist pay in Army.

About $17000.

Only if you're married. Otherwise COMRATS gets taken out of your pay. Also you pay for the barracks, TRIcare, Etc.

But I thought you pay for housing food and uniform

in 2000 as an E-1 private in the Army (which shares the same pay scale as the rest of the military) I remember making like 18,000 a year. But that was only for the first six months, I got promoted every few months so I was making $37,000ish when I left active duty. In my last deployment as an E-5 with one dependant, living in an expensive area I made roughly $65k
As an E-6 with two dependents in the same area I would be making $70k ish

WHO SAID THAT?

How does an expensive or less expensive area affect your salary?

Damn, I'd heard that Australian Defence Force personnel get paid well, but I hadn't realised that it was that much more than in the US; the *lowest* you can earn as permanent enlisted in the Australian Army (after initial training) is $58,985 AUD ($43,507 USD).

The amount of BAH you receive is based on average rent/mortgages in the area you live in, for instance married personnel in Hawaii get about $1000 more in BAH than other places in CONUS.

At E-4 I made about 4 bucks an hour for the average work week. Granted, I was a POG and undeployed. Also, this does not count the benefits (most of which you do not want. I mean, the 400k life insurance is nice, but you really don't want that payout, do you?)

I make about 7.14 /hr here. With an average of 11 hour days. Thats the closest civilian analogy you are going to get.

Not a whole lot, but considering they aren't signing for shit and aren't responsible much beyond their weapon in the field, it figures that they be paid not too hot.

Yes it's a 2012 pay scale, but don't expect much of a change from today's pay.
