You should always have a water source. Always. That's not going completely solve your problem though because it will be less effective as a counter-weight the more you drink from it. And attaching a pack isn't the best idea since you won't always be needing that. You should try slimming down the front by taking shit off if you can justify it. If you can't do that, then my recommendation is a belt and suspenders as the best way to distribute a load for maximum comfort.

How should I be using the cummerbund? I just even it out on both sides then make it as snug as possible without causing discomfort. I also use an elastic inner cummerbund which the carrier came with. The problem with using AK mags in AR pouches is that you can't properly seat them face down because the lip catches inside and it's a total pain in the ass. You want something loose.
If you're a cheapfag, look into USGI triple mag shingles. They are loose as fuck for AR mags, but will be about right for AKs.

well, my mag pouches are for G36 mags and nothing really fits in them. AR pouches are for AR mags, AK pouches are for AK mags. Its really that simple. Don't mix mosh differnet sizes as they don't seat well. G36 mags are bigger than any others because retardation so I can safely fit AUG/AK/AR/whatever magazines but they aren't snug.
Also TACOs arent that great but its subjective. Do you go prone? Do you want to be sanic fast? What do you want it to look like?

I've been on the hunt for a discontinued BAE plate carrier.
It's a concealment carrier that has no MOLLE on it at all, but has integral STANAG mag pouches in the cummerbund area and seems to only have come in white/light grey to be worn under a jacket or even BDU/ACU jacket.
I saw some hispeeds wearing these under white man dresses in Iraq doing a security detail for some high muckety muck politician - and the dude I talked to only said it was a BAE carrier but didn't know the model and they'd only been issued them for that sneaky security gig.
Anyone have any clue what I'm talking about? Was it ever commercially available?

Nah, I'm doing a cut right now and focusing more on high intensity cardio. I was at 220lb ~13% BF at 6', it hurt my running a bit so now I'm trying to cut to 195-200 at maybe 9-10% BF. Itll only fuck up your run times at the extreme ends, and even then you can train to overcome it if you train hard enough.
