I finally got around to hunting around my local area for a cheap m91 to replace the one I stupidly sold to a friend, and low and behold I found one at my local gun shop, service was good, and I got a discount because "No one wants to buy this old gun". I learned a few marks but there are some I can't track down, I will be dumping pics and serials if anyone knows a lot more than me, also any good places online to buy decent quality 7.62x54r, the only place near me is charging 25 $ for 10 rounds.
Only issue so far with the rifle is the mismatch of bolt and receiver.

Just your generic Izhevsk 91/30 round receiver. Is the bore decent and how much did you spend?

Bore is decent previous owner must've loved it as much as I am, and i got semi ripped, but for my area it was the best I've seen, only 150$ plus like 10ish for tax.

It depends what you mean by "decent quality". Surplus ammo is cheap, but corrosive and of....less than stellar quality. New production Wolf, Tula, and Brown Bear is non-corrosive, but steel cased and dirty. PPU brass is great, but runs upwards of $16/20rnds.

What the shop was selling was brass casing Wolf ammo, looked decent enough but was a rebox like they split a box of 20 or so.

that's a fine price for a Mosin these days, you could turn around and sell it for $200 no problem.
After all, it will shoot a modern round reliably and with acceptable accuracy for as long as you care to keep it.
