So, /k/, What standards do you think someone should meet if they're to be useful in a militia unit. not some loloperator Michigan bullshit, I mean a legit militia that could stand on it's own.
Physical fitness standards, things they should be able to do with their weapon or equipment, skills or knowledge they should have?
Any training they should have, or you would recommend?

Pic definitely not related.

Get PatMacs book on the subject.

Other books as well

Crossfit or any HIIT training that also incorporated Olympic lifting. Throw in endurance and cardio.

literally not the purpose of a militia

Kek. I could give you advice as a prior infantryman but it's pretty common knowledge. Take a look, it's in a book.

I kind of hate to say it, but the navy seal physical fitness book is actually a great fucking book and it is like $10.

What about skills or training, or equipment they should be proficient in?

A militia? Probably not shooting each other on accident and spotting feds.
>>

Map, compass, ranger beads, stars, rifle.

Seriously, land navigation is important for a local militia unit and as a bonus it is also really fun.

It seems like pic related would be the most useful training for local militia. Disasters where the community needs people to carry stuff and assist victims probably happen more than invasions or insurrections.

General CERT skills probably would not go amiss either.

Be willing and able to kill another human being.

Civilian militias won't be "operating" at all. At most they'll be sitting behind sandbags for several hours at a time, several days a week.

The last thing this country needs is guys with no actual, formal military (as in you served and were deployed in a combat role) training roaming around without uniforms on shooting at other people in a time of conflict on our soil while the federal government is trying to maintain some semblance of order.

Set equipment standards, budgets, training standards, etc. Oh and I'd give this a read, too.

Being able to run a mile without stopping then being able to climb a 6 foot wall is beyond most Americans.
