About 450 rounds through a 9mm and my crown is blacked out (some parts you can still see the chrome). Is this normal? Ive only been able to remove like 10 percent of it but my solvent ( Hoppes 9 Elite Foaming) is weak I guess.
The pic attached sucks because my camera focus is bad. Its not important

Have you tried deep throating it yet?

Use denatured alcohol and soak it for five or six minutes.

Is denatured alcohol a general use gun cleaning solvent? Im looking to stock up on things like this so i dont blow my wads on gun oils and cleaners

Hoppes No 9 is kerosene and banana oil.
You can do all your poorfag bore cleaning with an even parts mixture of kerosene, acetone, and mineral spirits/stoddard solvent. Mix it in a new gasoline can or a glass bottle since plastic bottles can be attacked by the solvents.
If you want a poorfag gun oil, 3 in 1 oil is less horribly toxic than motor oil while still being dirt cheap and working alright.
I still prefer to buy nontoxic gun oils and solvents though. I already get enough poisonous crap in my body without AR15 trying to spray oil into my eyeball, and wearing gloves to clean guns sucks.

Why do you care?
What problem is it causing?

You forgot the transmission fluid.
It ain't Ed's Red without it, and /k/ loves trannies.
>>30194076
It's a clean burning fuel.
You can buy it by the gallon and it murders the fuck out of gunk.
>>30194197
I'd also go with mineral spirits as this guy said.
If it's okay to use on a Mill, then it's okay for a gun.

Lubricant and protectant in a bore cleaner annoys the fuck out of me. I want the patches coming out bone dry before I oil it separately. Otherwise I can't exterminate the carbon.
