This is a silly story. Chernobyl still has around 700 people living there to this day, and two different state departments to oversee who goes in and out of the exclusion zone. They should have made a spoopy story about someone who discovered Chernobylite - A super radioactive glassy crystal that was first discovered underneath the reactor that went into meltdown. That or ghosts or whatever.

Hey I finally have something to contribute to one of these threads
>be bored yesterday
>decide to explore a trail in the woods behind my house that I haven't ever gone on
>gear up with alpenjager pack, CETME bayonet, sardines, drinks, the usual
>didn't bring gun because didn't feel like carrying my 91/30 or my mauser (the only guns I have at the moment)
>head out, nothing out of the ordinary
>about after an hour of hiking, arrive at start of new trail
>head down the trail and notice a few small campsites off to the sides with trash and cookware
>probably vagrants
>eventually the trail kind of dissipates into forest
>keep walking
>suddenly notice terrible smell
>the smell of death
>start looking around for the body of an animal (or perhaps even a human cause who knows)
>after a couple minutes of searching for the source the smell just goes away
>remember how all these spooky greentexts on /k/ always start with a bad smell
>getting kind of nervous
>continue walking
>I start feeling like I'm being watched
>look around
>see a makeshift tipi-like shelter about 30ft away from me
>made out of log frame and one of those beach umbrellas wrapped around the frame as canvas
>oh god how did I not notice that
>squint to try and see if anything is inside (the "door" or opening is facing me)
>pitch black inside, there are holes in the canvas that create bright spots inside
>see the bright holes in the canvas go black and then reappear like something moved past them

>start walking at a brisk pace back the way I came
>the smell is back
>stop to see if anyone is following me
>looking around, cloud passes in front of sun, casting a shadow on the woods
>dead silence, not a single bird calling, not the sound of the wind, nothing
>I'm starting to freak out

>this sound is hard to explain but ill try my best
>start hearing like a mix between a moan and a scream in the direction of tipi repeating at intervals

Anyways, it's uneventful and poorly written but that's the first time anything like this has happened to me innawoods. Maybe it was just a hobo.
