More are dead due to drug wars than middle eastern civil wars/OEF/OIF combined.

Which is the more relevant security problem?

Is Latin America a more severe combat zone?

Now that I think of it, I've never seen BOPE with optics.

They don't need them. Their eyeballs are the optics dammit.

thats a fucking lie. A few years ago when the purged the favalas for the olympics numerous threads they had various carry handle red dots and acogs.
>>
>>30180612
BOPE use some FAL's with optics, as well as the common police. We usually see optics mostly on AR variants, but CORE has the larger number of them.
BOPE uses M249's too. lel

BOPE aquired some Serious Firepower after a joint exercise held in Guatemala, in 2007-8.
Rumours are that they would trade experiences with the Kaibiles on "cohercitive interviews" and close quarters tactical progression.

Outside of Chile and Uruguay Latin America is a huge battle ground, especially Venezuela, most of central America and Brazil.

The difference is the trouble in Latin America, they've come to accept it. It's a business. Business has a way of smoothing things out. It's business as usual now. No need to overthrow the gov't when you can bribe them with money and vices.

The ME on the otherhand, despite being no less brutal than the druglords, have a religious element to their violent shenanigans, which makes them far more dangerous.

Unless you live in a reality where Los Pollos Hermanos is a real established restaurant, I'm pretty sure you won't see any plane related incidents causing mass deaths involving drug lords. In our present reality though, the jihadis flew planes into our towers. Thus, the drug lords tend to keep to themselves, only causing mayhem secondhand by introducing drugs into your society (a problem that is easily fixed by patrolling your shores and with a big beautiful wall on your border), whilst the jihadis tend to have massive, worldwide ambitions when it comes to their shenanigans.

>>
>>30190350
the problem is this: once you put up a wall, it's harder to claim the land on the other side of it as yours over the next 50 years.
>>
>>30190440

Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sure putting your finger right on the ejection port won't cause any sort of injury or malfunction.
>>
>>30190337
>(a problem that is easily fixed by patrolling your shores and with a big beautiful wall on your border)
If what we currently have doesn't work, if the massive anti-drug campaigns of the last few decades didn't work, how the fuck is this new initiative going to work?
>>
>>30190350
1) There is a reason people switched from sea-based drug dealing to land-based drug dealing in the US. It's because we slammed the hammer down on that shit.

2) The wall will stop the drugs, the illegals, their crime, their rapists. Some, I assume, are good people. There will be a big beautiful door in that wall, for people to enter LEGALLY. Nobody builds walls like Trump. Nobody.

>>30190465

We already patrol our shores, which is why Paco down south stopped shipping coke to Miami and started moving it through the border, El Paso and the like.

The second part is key: that big, beautiful wall. God, I feel patriotic just thinking about it.

Shit I might even join the border patrol if my current career falls through. Lord knows they'll have a demand for recruits.
>>
>>30190465
>putting all this faith in the wall
I can almost guarantee you that they'll find other ways in. Tunnels are found almost constantly, and if we cut out the Cartels I'm sure another foreign group will start supplying. As long as there is demand, there will be a flow of drugs into this country (though seeing the Mexican Cartels try to deal with massive losses in revenue would be greatly amusing).
>>
>>30190452
>>30190454
>>30190467

My country doesn't use M4s or M16s, no port and that spot. But i was holding the magazine. They told us not to in training, but i did. Good accuracy and comfy. What's the problem with that? I never had any.
>>
>>30190469
They slip through cracks in our border security. Actually, they're not cracks, they're huge gaping holes. The wall will eliminate those holes.

Also, this is an idea I'm going to give to Donald Trump for free: Tethered Blimps. Air ships tethered to the ground near the border, with full surveillance crews, our eyes in the sky, able to spot drugs, crime, rapists, and illegals coming from miles away.
>>
>>30190498
Yes, we know you're a finn.

It's not WRONG to hold by the magwell, or even the mag, although there is a heightened chance of inducing a malfunction, but most people in /k/ don't endorse that since gripping the rifle forward and over is more efficient.
>>
>>30190511
>we know you're a finn

No, i'm not. No Mongol, no Slav. But yes, it was an AK variant.
>>
>>30190533

The AK magwell is more secure than the AR magwell, by having two lugs to secure the magazine instead of just one, so it's harder to induce a malfunction by gripping the magazine.
