Worst investment decision in my life.

In 1990 I advised my family to purchase stock in NIKE, COKE, Berkshire Hahthaway and Gold. I was 10 years old.

> Who listens to a ten year old, we'd only be multi-millionaires

Last month I paid about a buck a round for some GP11 because it was dwindling to nothing.

use teh googles

not quite stocked but 1992 headstamps are confirmed arriving, at decent=ish prices.

Also, the company that took over swiss ammo production is retooling for new production GP11 due to the swiss army still needing it, supply/demand etc

It looks like we're nearing the end of surplus 7.5x55, as I remember production stopping around 1996 or '97, and we're at '92 apparently. However, while that's the end of that batch of GP-11, sources indicate around 2015 that an ammo factory has recovered some tooling for 7.5x55 and is resuming production because the Swiss military still has tons of old rifles that use that caliber in their inventory.

Are you sure that's the new production and not surplus? Because I highly doubt that the new production GP11 by RUAG will be that cheap.

Anyways, we pay around 32 Swiss Francs for 100 rounds of GP11 at gun clubs in Switzerland, and that's old ammo.

Can someone identify that ammo at the bottom?
>>
>>30177692
Looks similar to 300BLK, no clue what it actually is, though. Is the ammo above it 7.62x51 NATO?
>>
>>30177704
The ammo above is 7.5 Swiss.

I get the feeling that this was that weird ammo that Switzerland wanted to adopt instead of 5.56.
>>
>>30177715
Google Reverse Image Search says it is in fact new production 300BLK made by RUAG

Pic dates back to 2009

It's certainly still surplus, 1992.

RUAG or whomever conglomerated RUAG, will be considerably more I'm sure. And to tell the truth I'm not convinced that it will be a match for the surplus in terms of being match quality.

Not doubting swiss metallurgy or engineering or quality control in the least. Just that Ruag is now under private control and bottom line will eventually dictate shortcuts.

>What are the worst /k/ related financial decicions of your life.

Paid close to $900 for one of the very first Bulgarian AK-74 imported into the country.
Watched them drop to ~$300 over the course of two years.
Paid $650 for an open bolt UZI conversion and $500 for a PPSh, watched them drop to $190 and $250 respectively.

I just recently sold a nugget and a spam can to a kid for $320. I still made $110 on the deal.

only won a little over 2000USD. could have held those loonies for 5-6years and doubled it.

Bought a 10/22 about a month before Sandy Vag and didn't stock up on ammo because 'Hey, it's cheap and plentiful I can just buy more when I run out'
>>
>>30179153
I bought bricks of 22LR, cases of 7.62x39 and 7.62x54r, and loaded my way through 5000 bullets doing various calibers before I reported for basic.

Made it home a year and a half later to find my car totalled, my ammo gone, and the couple guns I didn't hide trashed. I am still missing a pistol and rifle.

Point being, having nice things doesn't mean much if you know anyone whatsoever, especially if you are related to them.

OP naow

grandparents trusted 10 year old me...a little.
have millions, passes through a generation of boomers before i get a sniff. It'll all be wasted on paying down debt.

Uncles (2) have great regrets, always ask, "Whats the next big thing" tell them, I duno, haven't had a great epiphanty since APPL,GOOG and AMAZON, which I also was vocal about, I'll TRY to inform you next time a real thing comes along.

You can't be wasting time LOOKING for a boom... it just occurs.

All so non /k

in /k terms, stock up on surplus that has a buy low -- sell high expectation. don't buy trends, buy value....become Warren Buffet
