I'm looking for a rifle along the lines of being cheap, durable, and being chambered in .308 win.

You'll need to git gud, the gun is half of it but the rest needs to be a combination of ammo and the marksman. If you are serious you should invest in a reloading setup before going into things like glass bedding and gucci scopes.

You could getcha a 91/30 PU sniper, but it will run you twice what a decent modern bolt gun will.
