>boss unloads several old cardboard boxes on counter
"Hey anon, I cleaned some old shit out from my garage. Sort through it and see if there's anything that we might be able to sell in these boxes."
>mostly old surplus pouches and random shit
>get the bottom of the last box
>several odd boxes of ammo
>armor piercing rounds
>exploder rounds
>incendiary rounds
>fbi loads
>all full boxes
>shitmypants.jpeg
"h-hey boss. umm... could I buy these old boxes of ammo?"
"okay. hell, I don't know what that old shit is worth..... gimme ten bucks."
>jaw drops
>boner erected
Anybody else have stories where they came across some hidden gold like that?
>>
Jewed one of my old bosses out of 660 rounds of once fired 308 brass for 66bucks.

Pics.

I used to have a pack of those exploders. I blew up a bunch of 16oz propane tanks with them. A good time was had.

Also work at LGS. About once a week or so some old fudd brings in old or "expired" ammo. Most of the time we divide it up amongst ourselves. However the best one was when some old lady brought in two sealed boxes of 9mm Black Talons. Nobody ever caught wind that they came in, that shit got stashed away quick...
>>
>>30151467
The pic i posted shows some of it. 357 and 38 AP rounds. 357 Exploder rounds and two FBI loads sitting on their box.

>muh teflon jacket

Worthless in practice, but was a good idea to make cheap shitty ammo.

Fucking Jews ruin everything.

i hadn't heard of the exploders before. So they will ignite flammable material?
>>
I'm sitting on 800 rounds of old sears and winchester ammo from the 50s but i have no idea what to do with it. Auctioning it off seems like a losing deal right now
>>
>>30151479
Another good one is the time another old lady brought in "some old rifle she found in the attic". It was a pretty beat to shit Gewehr 88 but damn if it wasnt all matching and mechanically fine. She basically gives it to the shop. Once she left without hesitation the owner looks over to me and says "$25 bucks and shes yours, in this shape it"ll never sell out on the rack..." I think i got a half decent deal

explosive ammo was used way back in WW1, to great effect on enemy persons. But the way things were they bitched enough about basketball sized holes in people they treaty'd it away like gas and darts.
>>
>>30151506
I have test fired it before when we had a partial box. 9mm +p+ is some nasty shit, gimmick bullets or not

Got six of one of those .357s in your pic fo free. They are actually metal piercing, meant to punch through car doors. They're really just a re-profiled FMJ, there's no AP qualities. Now those other two to the right may be AP
>>
>>30151549
If im not mistaken its pretty much just truncated cone bullets right?

My buddy works at a LGS and got an old Marlin model 50 for like $75. Not too many open bolt guns out and about... Pictured between my Model 94 and m96 Swede

I absolutely LOVE it when people bring in older beat to shit or just obscure guns to sell or trade. Everything else just gets bland when you sit around and fingerbang it all day.
>>
>>30151514

Well if you shoot one into a bale of straw if only might catch fire. The little propane tanks go up 9/10 times though. On the tenth time the exit hole acts like a rocket nozzle and sends the tanks flying toward your face sending everybody diving for cover. I used to have a video of that, but I lost it in a computer crash.

They're just a hollowpoint with a bit of flash powder and a primer shoved in it. Any schmuck could make one, but bad things are likely to happen to your dog if you do.

After my Grandfather died I found an Army Issue Colt Commando .38 Special Revolver (the last revolver ever issued by the US military) in his sock drawer.

I thought he'd shown me all his guns; but I never knew that one existed. I still feel the desire to look in obscure places for hidden weaponry when I'm at my grandmother's.

>at gun show searching junk tables like I always do
>see two boxes of old .25-35 factory ammo
>grandpa left me his old 1920's 1894 but never shoot because don't reload
>meh, it's usually $40+ per box
>move on but find nothing so return to table
>guy is gone. Ask his buddy about the ammo.
>he looks around. Says buddy went to bathroom. Stares blankly at me. "Uhhhh...20 bucks."
>"Each?"
>"No, for both."
>"SOLD!"

That Model 50 had been sitting on their cheap-shit rack for like 9 years... Nobody ever bothered to go check that rack out.

My experience there wasn't too far in the way of being a good deal, although a grand isn't a half bad price for a Model 41, especially for a Clark modified 41. But the story is pretty neat. Apparently the original owner brought in the 41 to the shop owner to fix his original barrel. He had tried to thread it himself, with dubious intentions behind it. Anyways, the shop owner ends up sending it off to Clark to just have a whole new barrel installed, since the guy wanted to put a scope on it anyways. Fast forward to a couple years ago, the original owner dies, and most of his shit is sold in an estate sale. The shop owner goes to this sale since he was a previous customer, sees a few guns he sold the guy, but the 41 is missing. A week later, this mexican walks into the shop asking for ammo for a "Clark .22". He asks the spic to bring it by, being immediately suspicious of someone buying a Clark custom without actually knowing what it is. Turns out the spic was getting stuff in order for the estate sale, and ended up pocketing the 41. The shop owner confronts said spic, and tells him if he leaves it there, he won't get the police involved. Shortly after I tell my buddy to set the gun in the back safe for me when he texts to tell me what came in...

Sure, it's nothing earth-shattering but it makes a satisfying pop when it hits a solid target.

I always like sales with a back story
