People focus too much on the guns and the idea of people fighting/killing the guards. The problem is we're giving crazy people a target in the first place. When there are 3-4 armed guards wandering around in radio contact suddenly it's not our children that are the low hanging fruit when you're picking something to attack.
I 100% reject the idea that the money isn't there because the money doesn't need to come from the government. Give Volunteers who pass basic screening two school lunches. Have local businesses "donate" them, like how movie theaters will employ cops for crowd control. No premier tonight? Pay for a shift at school instead of having them guard the empty arcade.
Veterans already have guns and mental health issues and live near schools, but AFAIK one has never shot up a school.

Never understood the outrage over this. My middle-school and high-school had a few armed cops full time. They patrolled the halls and made arrests almost daily for things like drugs, fights, weapons, etc.

The majority of school shootings involves kids bringing guns(hidden) into the school,then killing someone on school property often outside after school is over.
Most school shootings dont involve ar15s and rampages.
The point of the security screening is make the fish in a barrel shooting that happens when somebody sneaks a gun into school to kill a bully or a teacher its harder to get into the school.
The school I went to had metal detectors,they could search your bags and we had roving security officers,because my school was filled with blacks and latinos we rarely had school shootings after the screenings came into place because kids would just shoot at each other outside of school lol

all I'm saying is almost every single mass shooting that has occurred since the 1950's has been in a "gun free zone". There is a reason these motherfuckers don't try to shoot up a police station or a gun convention. I'm a big fan of arming teachers on a basic level, and allowing teachers with CCW to carry in school

I actually do believe Schools should have a security force that is purely for protecting from external threats, not for dealing with students or teachers.
We don't need soldiers with rifles escorting billy to the principles office for saying "fuck" in class the class room...it will lead to kids fearing or hating soldiers just like how they hate campus cops.
Have few rifle armed soldiers to defend the "school" while the school has sports coat or polo shirt wearing security for domestic class room teacher to student problems and concerns.
I also believe Airports and all public buildings should have soldiers but for national defense/terrorism concerns while local cops take care of petty things.
