how would a P90 chambered in .338 lapua work out?
>>30116978
It would require a lot of re-engineering and would probably be extremely big. More of an LMG than a PDW at that point.
>>30116978
it wouldn't
>>30116978
A blowback .338 Lapua?
>>30116978
Just like in my Japanese anime!
>>30116978
It wouldn't.
>>30116978
I'd like a P90 in 45-70
>>30117218
>full auto .45-70 from a polymer bullpup
RIP your shoulders.
>50rds of .338 exploding right under your face
No thanks.
I don't even think a P90 in 5.56 would work without being fuckhueg. A P90 in .338 would be pretty difficult and uncomfortable.
>>30116978
>mfw it has a 300 pound bolt
HK crunched the numbers, a straight blowback 7.62x51 needs a bolt weight of something like 50kg
7 inch wide gun.
>>30116978
If it doesn't have straight case walls, it won't work in the magazine.

The horizontal magazine and downward ejection are the only really good things about it. Changing caliber to something decent necessitates a change in the mechanism, at which point you might as well start from scratch.

Every time somebody says "a p90 in x" all they really mean is the mag.
Action is never considered
Cartridge taper is never considered
Feed system is never considered
Mag width is never considered
They could maybe do a .40 with blow back but why. Its still a sub gun and American eagle isn't expensive. Fallout 2 was great but a 10mm P90 would be a bitch
>mfw some madman figures out how to make it work
>mfw that muzzleflash
>mfw getting to magdump 50 rounds of .338 lapua into a criminal or snackbar

Without a tripod or vector like recoil control you would be doing recoil assisted backflips. Fuck I want this to be a thing
