Backup. The slung rifle is a political statement. The concealed handgun is the gun he will actually go for if some retard goes to grab his rifle and tries to use it against him. The the extremely unlikely event that there is a terrorist attack or some other sort of mass shooting, the handgun is still going to be quicker to bring into play while he seeks cover where he can then bring the rifle into action. Either way, it's kind of autistic. But if I open carried, I'd definitely have a concealed back-up.
