Hey IDPA/USPSA friendos
I just bought a RIA Double stack 9mm 1911 just to check it out and have fun. I'd like to use it for competitions, but I'm not sure when division it would put me in. For IDPA I think I'd be in ESP and for USPSA I think I could either be Production or limited. I've look through the rules but I cant find a super clear answer.

You'd be in Limited Minor for USPSA - there's a list for Production (and Carry Optics). Not a IDPA guy but ESP sounds right

but you'd reload less often! and how do you shoot Production without realizing everybody's got a DA/SA, DAO, or striker gun?

What holster is that? Looking to come in from the wilds of 3gun local club matches and start actually competing in USPSA. Thinking Limited Major and getting either a used 2011 off of BE or a SPS Pantera.

Yeah, I figure I'd just adapt my 3gun rig to USPSA. I'm running Ghost 360 pouches on a Safariland ELS belt. I'm probably just going to buy more ELS plates and get the 3d printed ELS forks so I have more flexibility and can transition from Production with my P320 to possibly Limited with a new gun depending on what I feel like shooting that day.

I shoot IDPA mostly so I'm way less familiar with USPSA rules. But because of my new drill schedule I'll be going to mostly USPSA matches now.

I was going to see if Comp-tac had a model that fit a double stack 1911. That's what my other gear is and I love it.
