I like my 45 Compact. It was my first gun (college poorfag) and many rounds later no issues at all with it. Feels great in my hand, more so than my Glocks desu.

XD and the XD(M) are both good. XD comes stock with 13 round magazines, XD(M) can take 13 but comes with 10 stock IIRC. I like and own a XD because it's one of three or four pistols that can have more than 10 rounds of fuddy-five. Been really reliable. No issues so far and I've put a few hundred cheap-shit rounds through it already.

There's that, and there's also the fact that it's one of the few modern poly .45's to have a full 5"+ barrel as an option - as a .45 should. Still, having to depress the grip safety to manipulate the slide is a fucking stupid design choice. I believe the XD-S is the only variant that doesn't sport that "feature".
