is it a new fad to wait until an old thread dies and then immediately start the same thread with the same picture again?

it's all right to just bump the old thread you know.
>>
Really want one for a first handgun
>>
>>30093481
Get an FEG, theyre pretty cheap on budsgunshop right now. Spend 300 on one so youll know if you like it or not before spending $500-900 on a belgian one.

I've owned and shot many other handguns but I shoot my old BHP better than any other. I love it.

Nazi-Occupied Belgian FN Hi-Power, WaA 140.

Who else has 15-round MecGar magazines?

>>
Bought an old police one from buds a year ago, despite being beat up I love it. The heavy trigger is sex to me
>>
>>30095307
>heavy trigger
I keep hearing about this, but I own two Hi Powers and have owned two others that I sold for various reasons, and I've never found a gun with a heavy trigger.
>>
>>30093629
Considering it.

Are there any small pasta on it prone to breakages? I already plan on replacing the springs just because
>>
>>30095598
*small parts, fuck
>>
Did not know until recently that Mauser made Hi-Power clones
>>
>>30096167
Just a marketing gimmick for West Germany; they were still made by FEG.

My 1973 Hi Power. I've never had a single issue with this pistol.
>>
>>30095598
No, not really. Some people prefer to remove the magazine safety, but that's about it. You don't hear much about HP's having reliability or durability issues for good reason.
>>
>>30097171
If you leave the magazine disconnect in place, you're messed up
>>
>>30097171
Unfortunately, I dont hear much about HPs at all. Theyre sorta the gun that exists, but nobody really cares about compared to glocks, or 1911s, or CZs, or Sigs, etc.

it's basically the ideal gun for someone who loves 1911s but hates 45acp and/or grip safeties
>>
Whats really the difference between an FN produced HP and FEG? I'm a sleezy 75 owner but want a HP for reasons, yet I cant decide between these two..

>>
>>30097676
I own one of each and the FN has better sights, is better built and is overall higher quality, but the FEG is 100% reliable and I would trust my life with it

The only problem with the FEG, and this might just be mine, is that the mags are very tight in the magwell, to the point that some (MecGars) are difficult to insert
>>
>>30097827
Would you think its worth the xtra $50 bucks to go with with the FN in this case? If it comes with rust or pitting, hows buds return policy? Are they safe to deal with CS wise?
Sorry to ask a lot, I love asking questions.

They're a cult classic. Some people think they are "fedora." These people are retarded.

Here is my early 1950's Belgian Hi-Power.
>>
>>30098227
Fuck those are some of my favorite vintage along with the ones with tangent sights and nazi roll maked ones.

Nah, its hammer down safety on. Had some trigger work done and that ended up being one of the side effects.
I've been posting it for almost a year and you are the first person to notice. Congrats

The country of origin, and the barrel. That's literally the only thing that isn't interchangeable, they're nearly identical otherwise. Hungarian Hi Powers are mechanically just as good quality as Belgian ones, but usually cost half the price. The only drawback is that finding one in really NICE cosmetic condition is tricky, and you don't get that nice 'Browning' and 'Made in Belgium' rollmark.

>>30097827
This anon is somewhat correct. I've noticed that non-FEG hi power magazines don't drop free as easily, but the sights are somewhat of a moot point. FEGs and Belgians both have had their runs of shitty low profile military sights, and modern blockier sights.

The decision is ultimately up to you. If you'd pay $50 extra for a gun with a 'made in belgium' rollmark, but that's in slightly worse condition, that's up to you. Personally I'd get the prettier hungarian one and spend $50 on ammo to actually shoot the thing.

Is the Hi-Power the best 9mm ever made?
>>
>>30098227
You have no idea my love for New Vegas firearm photos. Thank you for contributing to my collection
>>
>>30098252
Bleh, the internal extractor and that cutout in the slide make my dick sad. They're still elegant pistols, but not the best type of HP by a long shot.
>>
>>30098551
Nothing is the BEST anything, since everything is subjective. But is it the BEST single action, high capacity, steel framed 9mm available? Fuck yes it is.
