I see a lot of "EDC" threads, but how exactly does /k/ /k/arry? People rarely
include info on their belts, or what type of clothing they might wear when concealing.

What works for you? Does your line of work or sense of style interfere with how,
or what you carry? I'll share mine and give some feedback on my holsters and
such. Try to include photos if you share, this is an image board after all. Or at least
some detailed information about what you like or don't like about equipment currently you use,
or have used. This may help your fellow /k/ommandos avoid regretful purchases in the future.

This first picture here is my new G-CODE (Edgeworks?) "Incog Shadow" light bearing holster.
It's an appendix holster with a mag caddy. I ordered it custom and it took eight weeks to
arrive. It has blue-grey fuzz on the outside so you can pet it like an animal.

I know appendix carry isn't for everyone. I like it because I feel the draw is efficient from many positions, such as sitting down, even in a vehicle with a seatbelt on. This holster keeps the pistol pressed against my body snuggly, it really doesn't print. Bending over does not hurt my stomach because the pistol sits very low, bending over also does not cause printing like a 4:00 carry would.

>and you know i love bending over

3) Not sure how useful this picture is. I'm wearing pretty tight jeans in all these shots.

>just for you

I work at a network operations center, and visit data centers and other facilities in my area. These places are filled with Bernie-voting noguns liberal numales, but somehow do not have no-firearms policies. I dress casual, usually a button-down shirt and jeans and have so far remained undetected.

One thing about appendix carrying at work is, I can't use urinals at work really. Gotta use that stall, in case I try to show someone my penis but accidentally let them see my pistol.

This Bravo Concealment "D.O.S" appendix holster my absolute favorite. I've been through dozens of different holsters over the years, and this is by for the most comfortable, slim, concealable, well made holster I have ever owned. Now, I have owned several good quality 4:00 IWB/OWB holsters before, but I don't carry that way any more. Note this is not a light bearing holster.

This holster is adjustable for tension and how high the pistol rides. It is incredibly slim and well contoured to the gun compared to several other kydex IWB holsters I have worn. I like having it ride high, it gives an excellent combat grip and is very accessible when sitting buckled into a
vehicle. The clips are 1.5" and fit super perfect snug on a 1.5" belt. The holster took 4 weeks to arrive.

The belt is from SEO, I just got it and it's fucking awesome. (1.5" Rigid Cobra Belt w/out velcro lining, highly recommend.) It took two days to arrive.

I really like the G-Codes but I see everyone only appendix carry, can it be carried comfy traditionally? I'm too fat for that despite losing weight, I still have more to go. Just got back intact from doing cardio. Nice holster, anon.
>>
Entirely depends on what the weather is like, and where i am.

If it's summer and i'm out innawoods i'll OC on my belt. if it's winter, i'll wear a shoulder holster. if i'm in town, i carry in the wasteband.

If i'm mostly going to be driving, i'll carry it cavalry style, if i'll be walking, i'll carry it normally.

For some reason, even though i'm right handed i shoot pistols better with my left. so i usually carry for drawing with my left.

mostly shoulder holsters for me.
the only downside is you need an outer layer to conceal it, but there are options for every occasion.
windbreakers, cardigans, flannel shirts, blazers, leather jackets, etc.

Other holsters I would recommend would be L.A.G. Tactical, mostly for their OWB stuff.
They have a good selection of IWB/OWB (often convertible, comes with two sets of clips) holsters, they also offer light bearing options.

Bravo concealment are higher quality, better holsters (in my opinion.) However, I have seen L.A.G. (in my area at least) locally, which means no lead times.

I have given a lot of advice to new shooters because I used to work a gun shop part time. I would highly recommend investing in custom ordered, light weight kydex holster.

In my neck of the woods, everybody stocks the same two or three shitty brands of holsters. Galco (leather shit) which generally suck for semi autos (just my opinion), and really bottom of the barrel synthetic junk like Uncle Mike's. For new shooters walking into the LGS, they don't know any better. Kydex gives you excellent protection, retention, durability, and very importantly consistency in practicing your draw.

>g-code eclipse
Three of my gun shop buddies wear these, for M&P, Glock 19s, and Glock 43s. Fucking awesome holster, you can't go wrong with that man. I would highly recommend buying a proper gun belt that fits the size of the loops/clips on your holster.

>What belt?
I have a separate Dickies belt for when i carry. one of the real wide ones.
>Where did you get it
Walmart.
>How much did it cost?
20 bucks
Why is it better than other belts you've used?
It's really not. but i wear suspenders a lot. so it doesn't have to be a good belt.
What kind of holster?
A leather Hunter made holster.
What do you mean "cavalry style"?
Butt forward on the opposite side of your draw hand. it's one of the better carry positions when you're sitting down.

What kind of pistol is it?
My Carry is a tad unorthodox. I don't really care for handguns, but i understand the utility. My dad bought a hi point quite awhile ago, but a couple years ago, he tossed it at me. since i had it i didn't bother buying a new cartridge handgun since. So in a nutshell, i carry a poorfag meme gun sometimes.
my other handgun, is a cap and ball revolver. i only carry it when i'm innawoods though. but to be honest, that's where i spend most of my time anyway. My parents own a Paintball field, so i get paid to keep critters off of it. my Navy does this job perfectly. I also get paid to keep critters off of other peoples property too. You meet a lot of people with Wooded land in the paintball business. Best part about it is that it's private property, so i can do whatever the hell i want unless told otherwise by the property owner.
What size is it?
Hi point is like carrying a brick, i only ever carry it when i go to town. the Navy is about the size as a K frame or maybe an L frame.

>>
>>30089010
>>30089401

As long as you haven't got a protruding gut, and you have a quality holster made specifically for appendix carry, you can lean over all you want. The pistol rests in a sweet spot, basically in the center of the abdomen. You can bend over without it stabbing you, and it does not cut into your leg or groin.

Now, that G-CODE holster that carries a flashlight, that holster is a little bit uncomfortable, due to the length of the gun with the light attached.

I'm carrying a Glock 19 mind you, basically a full size handgun. If you appendix carry a Glock 43 or a S&W Shield, it's going to be comfy as fuck.

44 magnum is perfect I think.
I got the 460 because since 44 was so comfortable I wanted to try something bigger.
...also because of Resident Evil 4 and Fallout New Vegas.
recoil with 460 is generally manageable. 360gr Grizzly and Buffalo Bore loads are pretty snappy.
muzzle blast is big, especially with the muzzle brake. the 200gr Hornady stuff has a light kick but a muzzle flash that warms your face and a concussion that makes your head ache after several shots.
the 5" barrel balances better than the longer ones, but it's still front heavy compared to the half lugged N frame.

44 to me is the perfect balance of power, recoil, blast, handling, price, and availability. it's too bad my favorite revolvers were only made for .357

Pic is a few months old. I no longer carry around a notepad (I'm supposed to for work but I never use it and it's annoying) and I've got some proper mag carriers for both guns.

I'll carry one or the other depending on the weather. I live in WA so 7 or 8 months out of the year its cold or wet enough to get away with wearing an outer layer to CC the Hi Power.

I'll carry the Walther PPS in a Comp-Tac Minotaur IWB at around 3:30 to 4:00. I love this gun and I love this holster. It disappears under just a t-shirt. I carry this one more in the summer and when I'm at work.

I'll carry the BHP in a Ritche Leather CQQR (Alessi CQC-S clone made by Alessi's protege) OWB at around 3:00 to 3:30 under a coat or flannel or whatever outer layer I can get away with. It might not be the most practical carry gun but I love it and I shoot it better than any other handgun I've ever fired.

I know it was a 500 in that game and 45-70 in New Vegas, but I went with 460 since I already had a 45LC and ammo. I went with a shorter barrel for concealability too.

>close to my body, pistol below my face
I'm sure you already know about this but don't do that with a revolver.

I've never played counter strike but do want a USP. are all the counter strike games multiplayer only? I'm pretty much consoles only and don't have internet either.

Ask your grandfather that same question.

That's my crotch you're lookin' at, the top of my jeans sit just below my hip bone. I wear low-rise jeans. Seated, they may be just at the hip so that my pistol is in a good position.

Thanks buddy, the pics and vid really helped me understand. I still have to say that it doesn't look comfortable, but I respect that it works for you.
I'm not a big guy and I could probably pull off a similar /k/arry method as you, but I don't like things pressed against my abdomen.

I'm really enjoying your thread btw, best EDC thread I've seen on /k/ in ages.

the iwb goes on my 3:15, I find it comfortable there, grip forward and barrel back in such a way that it kind of locks my wallet into my back right pocket, you kind of need to push the barrel forward to get the wallet out of the top of the pocket. I didn't intentionally do this as an anti-pickpocket measure, it just happened to "work out" with how the 1911 is shaped and where I carry it. I didn't holster the glock I cc'd before this in the same way, and that was a subcompact anyways.

mag pouch goes on 9 o clock

It's all just belt loops, with a completely normal belt, usually on jeans or slacks.

All the other shit goes in my pockets.

Not a problem at all for my line of work/style. We're business casual, so I'm always untucked polo or short sleeve button-down. And on weekends I usually dress the same way (jeans or slacks + untucked polo or shotsleeve dress + [weekend exclusive] hawiian shirts, t shirts, etc...)

On the rare occasions I actually need to wear a full on suit, I'm usually out of town so I don't even have my gun with me, or sometimes it's work related stuff downtown and then I just IWB that WITH the tucked in shirt and pants because the jacket covers it, and usually in the situation I'm wearing the jacket it's not coming on and off; although in some narrow contexts where it needed to; I just untuck the dress shirt underneath to cover the IWB before I remove the jacket (This has only 'come up' like once or twice when work event transitioned into celebratory bar trip with no going back to the car/office/etc... between; yeah and sure you're not supposed to drink with your guns, it's not like I'm going to tell my fucking coworkers, OH NO guys! I can't come to the bar with you! I'm packing. I don't really try to get super drunk at those things either, I still gotta drive home from them afterwards anyways.

first time conceal carry here

recently got a springfield xdm, how the fuck do you actually conceal a gun?

I feel like ankle and shoulder holsters are memes that will get me killed if i actually need it, should i get an inside the waistband one? How is that comfortable for extended periods?
>>
>>30092647
OP here, see my post from earlier on advice to new /k/arry >>30088711

I would say buy a nice 4:00 holster first and carry like that. The weapon should be canted at such an angle that will mitigate the grip from sticking out and printing a lot. A good holster does that. A stiff belt is also very important, it keeps everything in place. Buy something very thick, preferably a gun belt. Keep in mind some holsters may have loops or clips which are either 1.5" or 1.75" and may not fit certain belts. A cover garment is helpful depending on your build / sense of style.

I prefer wearing a loose fitting long sleeve shirt like pic related >>30088339

If I were you I would buy a holster locally for now, while you wait on a custom holster to arrive. For 4:00 carry position, you can even use an outside the waistband holster, if you wear a cover garment.

Something like this http://www.tacticalholsters.com/product/ECLIPSE.html

Regular clothes, 4-5 o'clock IWB. No issues even with a basic t shirt
>>

>how comfy are they for extended periods
with a good belt and a custom holster, you can wear it all day, its extremely comfortable. like a good backpack distributes weight across your frame, a good holster makes carrying a pistol a non issue. you'll be paranoid about printing for a few weeks until you realize nobody is looking at you, nobody notices.

>XDM
you bought a full size pistol for concealing, but that's ok, it will be less comfortable and more difficult to hide *completely* than this guy >>30093032. his carry is fucking super comfy and easy to hide.

piece of advice for you though with that full size pistol:

I carry a Glock 17 at 5 o'clock
and 2 spare mags in my pockets
>>
>>30093085
What kind of holster is it? Leather or Kydex? Gen 4 glock? Have you ever had the mag release because the gen 4 mag release was activated being pressed against the small of your back and the car seat? What kind of belt do you wear? What kind of out garments do you tend to wear? Have you had a difficult time with other holsters? Do you use a pocket insert for the mags? How consistent are your reload drills from the pocket? Do you have trouble reaching the pistol in car with a seatbelt on?
>>
>>30093032
what size belt clips are those? what kinda belt you use? do you ever use different belts?
>>
>>30093112
Alien gear holster and belt (because discount and buying a holster for the wife too lol)
Never had a problem getting a mag because cargo pants with side pockets
leaning forward gives access to gun when sitting
gen 4 glock and never hit the release on anything, not sure how people do that
>>
>>30092111
good info thanks. about the regular casual belt you mentioned, does the gun tend to move around if you run?

>drinking and driving with a gun

>>
>>30093218
word. I had carried a gen4 17 for a while at 4-5:00. When I was sitting buckled in the drivers seat of my car, I would hear an audible *click* sometimes and realize the mag just released. The small of my back was sandwiching the pistol between the car seat, even through a kydex holster! weird i know.
>>
>>30093242
were you wearing your pants really low or something?
>>
>>30093256
not really. the side of the frame was pressed flush against my lower back though, and when sitting upright the lower back was pressed firmly against the car seat. it kept happening to me.
