Not unless Belgium decides to become un-cucked... The French really are stupid...
>>
>>30086541
No. It was stupid when strategic mobility was just primitive air drops and armor.

now with airmobile and airlift and precision munitions its just dumb. all positions could be marked and the whole complex could be taken out by a couple hundred cruise missles.
>>
>>30086541
No.

Not to mention the atom bomb.

Static defenses have a tremendous advantage in that it makes your enemies movements predictable.

You need strategic defense in depth.

Pic is assuming an attack through Belgium. Each square are reserve armies that can instantly be deployed and after the German offensive has stalled, initiate an offensive of their own.

See operation Citadel and operation Kutuzov for examples.

How would walls and mines stop missiles?

by building it in america or isreal.

Against refugees?

Yes

Not when you have one of these bad boys
>>
>>30086690
yeah, but "flank it by invading the neighboring country" can be achieved by digging an equally long trench & making it wide enough that building pontoon bridges to cross it wouldn't be an option (would probably be cheaper as well to dig the trench)
>>
>>30086541
Trump's wall.
>>
>>30086713
Or I can just airlift my army behind yours.
>>
Probably less so. Give it another 20 or 30 years until we have working active defense that can shoot down nearly all missiles or artillery.
>>
>>30087822

Unless you have the VDV or the 15th Airborne Corps at your disposal, then your forces wouldnt stand a chance. They would simply lack the vehicles needed for the task.

That and you would need to have air superiourity or at the least, parity.

>>30086541
Nope, gliders made it obsolete

Germany generally starts wars after stewing in the feeling that they're being screwed over for a couple of decades.

Before WWI, they thought they were being screwed out of colonies, a fleet and superpower status.

Before WWII, they thought they were being screwed out of Danzig, West Prussia, and being blamed for a war they didn't start.

Soon enough, Germans may start feeling screwed over about hosting millions of migrants when France admits 30000 and England and Poland none, and about having their savings slowly eaten away to the benefit of Italy and Greece.

Never underestimate furor teutonicus. Just wait 15 years or so...

Since I'm swiss, I wonder if Belgium would still be the easiest way compared to Switzerland. I know that Belgium isn't any more relevant than it was at the time, but our army is reaching pathetic levels. I'd say our only chance are the Jura mountains. There are some inbred creatures not even the germans would want to awake over there.

You don't know what are you talking about.

Germany is heavily export-based economy, they need to pump money into poor slackers like Greeks or Italians otherwise the price of Euro would grow too much and the export would drop significantly.

Exactly - if anything the whole thing should look like that - the entire point of fortifications is to make your enemy attack the other part of the front.

I can add "deeper" reserves that would get in in case you'd engage the ones on the frontline but I was just making a point.

>>30093886
Yeah, I get your point. However I would've increased length of fortifications all of the way to the Switzerland border so the Germans can't exploit the flank.

>SeaRAM's also pop up and join the firing line
>All incoming missiles and artillery shot down
>C-rams/SeaRAMS pop back down
>Invader says fuck it if artillery and missiles are inefective send in the tanks and AFV's!
>Where C-rams/SeaRAMs popped up before, automated 40mm L70/105mm emplacements pop up
>They quickly fire and pop back down to reload
>Entire defense line is fitted with underground tracks that rapidly rotate out turrets/defenses as required
>one even has a metalstorm

Like i said, it assumes an attack from Belgium.

You can have further lines of defense directly bordering Germany (Maginot line).

>>30093853

Unlikely to happen.

>>30093884

No, you are the moron, one of your attack vectors goes straight through all of those defenses and if you have that kind of offensive power, then no defense is going to work anyway.

>>30093937

Very funny.

Yes, i am a bit butthurt right now.

>>
>>30094830
actually if the Bong and Frog had not fallen for the feint in Belgium they would have had a good chance at defeating Germany in 1940.
>>
>>30095094
Part of the reason we Brits failed to stop the Germans in Belgium was thanks to the belief their tanks couldn't pass through the thick forest regions. Which they could meaning all of our dug-in troops suddenly were in bad or useless positions.

The Maginot line, and static defenses are not to stop the enemy, they are there to make it easier to defend with as few men as possible. The Maginot Line WORKED as it was intended and it worked brilliantly. You have a few thousand men man the forts on the edge and keep most of your army in reserve. Once the enemy attacks the men in the forts hold off the invasion while you bring up your reserves for the counter-attack. It's weird reading historians talk about the "failures" of the Maginot Line, all the while hamming up how "formidable" Hitler's Atlantic Wall was. It's the same idea as the Maginot Line.
>>
>>30098695
Because they have to demonize Hitler as much as possible to continue extracting shekels from the western world.
