>American troops seen alongside Kurdish militants, other local forces in offensive outside ISIS' de-facto capital of Raqqa.

>Photos emerged Thursday showing U.S. Special Forces operating in Syria's Raqqa province alongside Kurdish YPG militants and fighters under the command of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), deemed to be moderate and an ally in the offensive against Islamic State militants in Syria.

>The photos, captured by an AFP photographer, show some of the American soldiers wearing patches of the YPG and YPJ, the YPG's all-women combat unit, either in a show of support or in an effort to hide their affiliation on the battlefield.

Yup, some white ass navy seals are definitely wearing YPJ patches to hide their affiliation, never mind that they're wearing their issued uniforms in their branch's chosen camouflage pattern.

I remember seeing a documentary about submarines in WW2. Especially towards the end of the war, one of their focusses was rescuing downed pilots.

The other US pilots would often fire at the submarines whilst they were trying to rescue their buddies. Only after the leadership threatened to seize rescuing downed pilots, the airmen lost their indifference towards whom they were targetting.

>hide their affiliation by wearing YPG/YPJ patches

Holy shit, who did come up with this?

YPG are wearing nothing but cheap chinese chest rigs and AKs, no helmets, no further gear, no plates.

How the fuck would it be possible for those SF to hide the fact they're burger niggers

Does anyone know exactly who those guys are? Delta Force? SEALs? Rangers?

YPG volunteer here, 6 months last year, Al-Hassakah offensive from beginning in April to end in June, battle of Abdul-Azziz, Battle of Sülük, Battle of Tal Abyad, weeks of defending the new established border at Ayn Issa against Da'ish attacks after June, 80km from Raqqa.
I wish i was there now, would love to see those guys in action.

Btw, on some of the pictures you see them with kurds in darkish camo and desert chest rigs, i met those guys a few times and 2 teams of those have been in my unit when we liberated the Abdul Azziz mountains. They are Yekineyen Anti-Terror, YAT. YPG "special forces". Most of them are of Syrian-Kurdish origin, unlike many other YPG fighters who are Kurds from Turkey. They speak Arabic, i think that's the reason the Americans are fighting with them. Might be harder for the US to find Kurdish translators, i guess that's why there's a Kebab looking guy with them.

A few. Had a few threads on /k/, dumping like 150 pics and telling a few stories.
Back then, i just messaged them on facebook, and 2 weeks later i sat in a plane to sulaymaniya, iraqi-kurdistan. not sure how it works today, but i think they still take volunteers. problem is, iraqi gov raised the fee for expired visa, and it's much harder now to cross the tigris to get into syria. it always had to be done in secret, but now the pesh really have an eye on the border. back then, we just wanderer hours through fields in pitch black, cut a hole in the fence, passed through the searchlight cones, and crossed that huge ass river paddling in a rubber boat. pretty adventurous and fun, but if they catch you you spent a few weeks in prison and get deported.

Bullshit, stop making shit up.

I knew most of the 7 that have fallen yet, and how they died. Inevitable. Also the Kurds really care for their volunteers, they loved us. Language has never been an issue.

There's an Australian who has been buried under a building, the Kurds brought 2 units to reenforce and drive Da'ish away, just so they could make sure they get him out of there. And they did.

>>30081587
I'm just repeating what the American guy said in the other thread
>>
>>30081633
yes, a lot of people say that. but it's just not true.

people without military background get trained by the kurds, it's not comparable to NATO basic training ofc, but it's enough. If you use your head, you can avoid most mistakes. There's hundreds of volunteers, but only 7 have fallen yet.
Also they teach volunteers kurmanji, especially the military stuff. It's enough to clear simple situations. It's not like you have to study to know that you take cover when someone's firing at you, to watch out for IEDs, not touch stuff you didn't pick up in enemy territory, to always keep an eye on your surroundings, and to do what your kurdish comrades do.
All the other stuff, like how to practically and tactically use a RPG, how to move, what you can use as cover and what not, they teach you in their academies.
>>
>>30081422

>>
>>30081688
I think a dictators are the answer. A mass ideological change (eg, everyone suddenly becomes a Buddhist) would be the ideal, but failing that, a hardline dictator is historically proven at keeping middle eastern countries peaceful.

>>30081724
Buddhists can be pretty angry fuckers when roused. Also dictators pretty much are the answer, but to most in the west the idea is anathema. IMO if we had let the dictators run their course in the ME there would've been a gradual and better transition to democracy over time. Take Libya for example. Despite how much the /pol/fags suck his dick Qaddafi was a bit of an erratic shitbag. However, his son (also the guy most likely to replace him) openly advocated reform and stuff that would've benefited Libya immensely. Realistically Qaddafi would've croaked in a few years, Saif would've come to power, and Libya would have slowly become that freedom-loving democracy that the idealistic pricks who backed the intervention would've wanted it to be. But that didn't happen. Obviously this is a rather simplified look at a more complicated situation but that's generally how things could've panned out for a lot of the countries in the ME.

Please god no, not this faggot again. Listen Yuropoor, just fuck off. I'm sure you have work on the fields to do.

Noone here is a Kurd. Just accept the fact that this is a board for freedom loving Americans, who support the YPG and the Kurds against ISIS and Turkey.

I'm American.

The Kurds have consistently been a better ally to my country than the Turks have.

The Turks ship weapons to ISIS, the Kurds kill ISIS.

Turkey refused to allow US forces to pass through their country during the Iraq War, the Kurds gave us an entire front.

As far as we can tell, Turks are kebab. Kurds are little brown Americans.

You actually need to be a permanent resident of the UK to enlist in any of the UK armed forces. I was interested in attending the PRMC, but I didn't feel like living in the UK for five years for a shot. They changed it a few years back. It sucks man.

They don't you Russia Today watching autist. They support their own rebels in Syria just like the USA does.

>Turkey refused to allow US forces to pass through their country during the Iraq War
Right and that was such a great idea.

You realize there's different Kurdish groups right

Oy vey, so new troops, and weapons, and supply caravans are just magically teleporting in and out of IS territory. Praise Allah for his wonders.

I'm sorry, I don't see any reason why Americans should side the Turkey over the Kurds.

Especially now that Ergodan is pulling his best Hugo Chavez impression, except with Islamism instead of communism.

Don't be so deslusional, ofc Turkey is supporting ISIS with weapons and supplies. They are interested in the downfall of Al-Assad and the Annihilation of YPG Kurds in Syria, and their greatest ally is fucking Da'ish. They also support FSA groups, but there's not that a big difference between maaaany FSA groups and Da'ish. Many FSA fighters join Da'ish.
>>
>>30086564
Turkey USA and even Russia now is supporting the FSA

You realize that Assad was at a point buying ISIS oil? That doesn't mean he's supporting ISIS, no country is supporting ISIS.
