>interesting/unique firearms you own

A guy sold me this today, it's a Ithaca LSA-55, made by tikka. It's a O/U 12 gauge and .222 Remington.

One of the first centerfire .22s

otherwise known as 5.7×43
>>
These double-caliber rifles are called "Drillings" here in EU, and are quite popular among hunters.

>>30042675
The original intermediate rifle cartridge .223 was based on.

It's still fairly popular in Europe, as a bird and small-game hunting round. They even made import RK-62 versions in .222

Fuck up on my part, Rimless*

Shit like this is uncommon here in the states, i didn't even know the caliber existed.

The caliber isn't rare but over under rifle/ shotguns that aren't some shit 20g/.22lr combo are pretty rare.

Look at that brake for the .222

Yes, zweiling, drilling, vierling
From the German zwei, drei, vier (2, 3, 4)

That's because you probably don't read much classic gun literature.

kinda ironic, knowing your people invented it.
>>
>>30042829
I'm not even that guy. You're retarded. Trying to insult someone because they know more than you is the last resort of the idiot. Anyone who has done even a little reading on different calibers will know that .222 exists.

Just admit that you don't do any research or thinking for yourself, and you rely on other people to form your opinions for you. Once you admit it, you can begin remedying the problem, and slowly you can transform yourself from a herd following idiot who gets his knowledge from video games, and what he sees people talking about on the internet, into someone who actually learns and thinks for himself.

Neat. I recently found an Ithaca LSA-65 in 30-06 at a yard sale. It needs some work, but it's a fine gun. Imported by Ithaca, but built in Finland by Tikka/Sako. Finding a magazine is tough, and when I have found them they go for $150 used.

Not yet. I've got a trigger group I found on Ebay coming in the mail but I still can't get it off the stock to assess if it's even worth pursuing. The trigger was only $15 so no real loss. I'm afraid I'm going to have to drill out a screw to get it apart. A lot of rust in the receiver but bore/bolt look great.

Just sucks that I'm going to have to destroy a hard to find screw just to get the thing apart. Luckily my father's a machinist and I can probably replicate a screw if need be. I'll probably post a progress thread when I actually get somewhere with it.
>>
>>30043103
Your point? If I want to insult someone's intelligence on an anonymous image board in the most colorful language I feel like, then that's what I'm going to do. If I can make one ignoramus feel stupid somewhere in the world, then that is my service to society for today. What does it matter to you?
>>
>>30043194
You sound like a fun person.
>>
>>30042709
"drilling" means a three-barreled gun, numbnuts. Just like vierling means quad-barreled rifle/shotgun
>>
>>30042559
too bad it isnt .223
>>
>>30042559
> it's a Ithaca LSA-55
But that's Tikka M07.
LSA-55 (or M55) is an bolt action rifle.
>>
>>30043849
I believe the Ithaca, version is called the LSA-55 but I am not positive. If you search M07 you dont see any Ithaca models.
>>
>>30043849
>>30043892

The 55 is the short action, and the 65 is the long action model.
>>
>>30043892
Did you google "ithaca m07"?
I get loads of images of the gun in OP.

I fix these for a living you know.
>>
>>30043920
Then what is this guns correct designation? M07 finds you nothing on gunbroker, LSA-55 gets you both the bolt action and break action combos. Some forums are saying these things were called the "Ithaca Turkey gun"

I'd think you'd look for Tikka/Sako M07. Ithaca just imported them.

>>30043999

Really? Do you have experience with the Ithaca LSA-65/ Tikka M65? I've got one I'm trying to fix.

Sure. What's the problem?
>>
>>30044037
You find tons of them of them on Google, but on a website selling them you find find shit.
>>
>>30044170
They are pretty rare. There weren't too many made to begin with and manufacture stopped in the 80's.

I found one at a yardsale a couple weeks ago, and it's got a lot of rust in the receiver but looks salvageable. Bore looks good and bolt operates fine. I've got a trigger plate assembly coming in the mail now.

Basically I'm just trying to get the thing off the stock now to see if it's worth saving. There's a screw at the front of the trigger that looks like it angles back and connects the trigger assembly to the receiver and it's pretty damn jammed. It's not rusted and it won't budge. I've tried soaking it in Ballistol and WD-40 for over a week and it hasn't moved a bit. Thinking it might be rusted in the threads on the backside. Right now I think I'm going to have to drill out the screw but parts are harder than hell to find. I've found a magazine or two online but they got for $150 and I don't want to buy one until I know the gun is worth the effort. I really want to get it running again after reading about them/realizing it's a Sako.

Any tips on getting a stuck screw out? Or do you know if I'm not taking it down correctly? I've taken out the front and rear stock screw on the top/bottom.

I can supply pics later. At work now.

Side note: I'm picking up an impact screwdriver on the way home from work. It may do the trick. I really don't want to drill this screw out.

>>
>>30044240
Right in time.
That screw connects the triggerguard to the trigger assembly. It must be taken out to get the stock off. It also holds the magazine latch and -spring in place.
After you have taken out the other two stock attachment screws you can give the triggerguard couple of whacks with a rubber mallet to shake the screw loose.
The screw is pretty tough so you don't need to be too careful about breaking it. Just use a well fitting screwdriver.
Slight heating always works. Just don't burn the stock.
Other than that I have very little ideas how to get it out.
